I have just finished reading "The Phantom of Manhattan" which inspired the sequel "Love never dies." The book felt a lot different than the movie with the only son factor being what's similar, so I am trying to piece together the things in both the book and the movie that I liked with my own consistency because I want it to make sense as it can be. I choose to have my story to be like "The Phantom of the Opera" where we see the Christine died years later so I'll do my best to avoid her untimely death. One major difference I notice between the movie and the book is Raoul. Raoul in the book seems to be a more loving father and supporting husband then what we see in the movie with him being a worthless drunk. I sort followed that path because I didn't like Raoul but if I can change it somehow for him to be better than I would.

I have been obsessed with the Phantom of the Opera since 7th grade. I have seen all the adaptations and last Halloween I was able to do Phantom of the Opera with my boyfriend Colin. Because of that I was able to use that as inspiration for my own story. I am cast as the beautifully talented Christine and Colin of course is the Phantom/Erik. I have also changed Meg to be my real-life best friend Rachel and I don't feel comfortable making Rachel's character go crazy. Also, since Meg has a mom, I have Rachel's mom to be Madame Giry. The only characters that stayed the same because I didn't know anyone in my life that could be these characters are Raoul and the Diva.

I have always felt sorry for the Phantom, and I wanted to give both him and Christine a happier ending. I do love the twist with them having a son. I think that's the best part in both the book and the movie but overall, the movie was better than the book and how the book ended was better than the movie because in the book there wasn't that much mentioned of Meg and instead this Darries guy was the one that shot Christine. He meant to shoot the boy, but Christine holds him and turned around so I might take inspiration from that without having either of them killed.

I hope that you all are enjoying what I have written so far and will continued to enjoy the next few chapters. Since I have finished reading, I want to try to update more so I can wrap up my story with the characters having a better ending. I will at least update either Wednesday or Thursday but if I can I hope I can every day or at least more frequently.
