Jasmine and Raoul had left France to Italy and got married. Jasmine soon found out that she is with child. She felt like maybe the child belongs to someone else but made Raoul believed that it was his. They called the child a miracle because Raoul was having a hard time getting Jasmine to conceive. They name their son Gustave.

When it was time for Gustave to be educated, they hired a tutor while Jasmine and Raoul go all over for Jasmine's performances. They tried to leave the events of Paris behind them. After traveling throughout Europe and even been to the down under of Australia, 10 years later, Jasmine gotten a letter from Mr. Oscar Hammerstein. At this point, Raoul haven't been the man Jasmine choose all those years ago. He got into some gamboling dets. Jasmine doesn't know.

"Raoul! I got this letter from Mr. Oscar Hammerstein. Inviting us to his new opera house in Manhattan, USA. On Coney Island" Jasmine told him. They packed their packs and went off to the USA.

When they landed by boat, they got off. "Miss Daae, over here" said a reporter with his camera. "Jasmine!" yelled another. "Her name is Madame de Changy" Raoul corrected. "Stand aside" as they walked past the crowds of reporters to the stagecoach. ""Gustave, come here!" called Jasmine. "No pictures of the boy" yelled Raoul. "Will you sing something, Jasmine?" asked one of the reporters. "Why aren't you singing at the Met? asked another reporter.

Then the stagecoach diver informs the crowd "The Viscountess has been engaged by the well-known impresario, Mr. Oscar Hammerstein to open his new Manhattan Opera house." "How did he lure the great Jasmine Daae over here anyway?" asked a reporter. "Must be for the money" responded another reporter.

"My wife is an artist! yelled Raoul. "Oh, yeah! And her art is paying off your gambling debts, is what they're saying in Europe" responded a reporter. "Is it true you left your entire fortune on a roulette table in Monte Carlo?" asked another reporter. "You insolent Jackels! How dare you?" responded Raoul.

"Hey kid! How does it feel to have a famous mother? a reporter asked. "Is this your first time in America?" asked another. "It's two weeks 'til the Opera house opens. What are you gonna do? Go see the Statue of Liberty? Gonna ride the new subway? Are you gonna go to the baseball?"

"I want to go to Coney Island and learn how to swim" responded Gustave. They got on their stage and went off to where they are going to stay.
