“When did you do these?” Katsuki asks, trying to conceal the disappointment toward himself for not noticing, but it doesn’t work, not with Izuku. “While you went on a run… Shoto-kun’s mom called and he had to leave me to talk, apparently it was about his brother so…”
It wasn’t an apologetic voice, nor did he tremble like he always did, it was monotone. Lacked emotion. Katsuki took note of that. He didn’t like it. “Kacchan?” he began, looking away as Katsuki wrapped up the fresh bandages around his wrist. “Yeah?”
“Could you do me a favor?” Izuku inhales sharply as he takes the blond’s silence as a sign to continue, “Don’t tell Aizawa Sensei… please…” Katsuki nods, hesitant. Of all people, he doesn’t want the one person who wouldn’t be mad at him for doing this shit… to know…
“I don’t get it.” Izuku looks up, “Why him off all people..?”
Izuku stays quiet, not answering as Katsuki finishes up with the bandages, “All done, we’ll change them tomorrow, don’t wanna get that fucking infected, we’ve gotta go see Hawks, he sent me a text yesterday evening.”
“Did he mention what it was about..?” Izuku asks as he stands up, Katsuki following right behind, he shakes his head. I fucking hate it when he keeps us in the dark, damn chicken man.
They leave the bathroom and go back to Izuku’s room, Katsuki closes the door, breath hitching at the scene displayed but Izuku seems fine with it, completely acting as though this was something normal.
Izuku opens his wardrobe, taking out another hoodie and pulls off the one on him, Katsuki just watches from behind, he could see his ribs and spine poking out, it wasn’t the first time but his eyes caught scratch marks just over where is ribs showed, he decided not to comment on it as the greenette was done changing.
“Let's get this talk with my mom over, I don’t wanna be here anymore…”
“Right…”
..
.
“Is your arm alright, baby?” Inko asked but Izuku didn’t want to talk to her, at all. First she apologizes the moment she sees me, the next second she goes to yell at me for hurting myself. Honestly, who does that? The fact that now he knows she’s talking with his dad doesn’t help, not today…
Katsuki looks at him, seeing he doesn't talk and gives Izuku a look, the boy sighs. “It’s okay… mom…” Inko nods, hands on her lap, not making eye contact with her son; Katsuki decides to break the tension.
“So um, Auntie, we… Izuku wanted to tell you something.” The blond says, reaching to hold Izuku’s hand, hoping to encourage him to open up. “Oh, of course, what is it, honey?”
Izuku was on board, he was going to tell his mom about his struggles, really. Honest hand to whoever was up there. But now… why do I even bother if I’m going to get yelled at in the end, he thinks to himself before talking, might as well piss her the fuck off like she has done to me.
“I stole money from your purse to buy alcohol.”
Inko doesn’t speak, she just stares blankly while Katsuki looks at him with his mouth agape. What in the world is he fucking playing at?!
“You used my money to get drunk..? Why?! Because you didn’t want to eat some darn beef I was cooking?!” She yells, Katsuki can’t put a finger on the emotion in her voice, Izuku just laughs dryly, getting up and letting go of the blond’s hand.
“What’s so funny..? Of all things you have put me through, of all the things we have dealt with since you started UA… now you do this, neglecting you health, going on and on about some- some theory you made up in your head and the smoking,oh and don’t get me started on cutting yourself like you haven’t already ruined your body-”
