Izuku couldn't sleep. He had tossed and turned in his bed endlessly; Katsuki was too tired, he had guessed, he wasn't a heavy sleeper he surely would've woken up by now. He sighed in frustration, his mind wouldn't stop running.
Every second he had remained awake was torture, he needed to numb his mind. It is Friday night, if I managed to sneak out I could get a drink, he managed to convince himself and that's how he ended up drunk, unaware of his surroundings as he sat in a booth in some stupid bar.
One drink followed another, he didn't even know what he was drinking. His body was all tingly, head heavy.
Wonder how Eri's doing... I couldn't rescue her-- wait no, that wasn't her, someone else. Oh, that's right... what was the guy's name? Whatever, it was his big drug operation.
Izuku chugged down half of the remaining beer in the bottle before he fished his phone out of his pocket.
The world around him was spinning it's fine, I'm fine. Nothing I can't handle. The names in his contacts were smashing into one another, he could barely make them out then he recalled the apple emoji the little girl had put while saving her number.
Scrolling further, he finally found it and pressed, he had no idea what time it was but the place wasn't crowded. Maybe it was around three or four am, maybe even later. The line kept ringing,
answer!! C'mon! I just want to know if you're oka--
"Deku-nii..?"
"H-Hey Eri- Eri-ch-chan..! What you-- what you doin'?" He couldn't reach for the words he wanted to say, his mind was slipping on and off, and the slurring was obvious. Izuku sat up, trying to come up with what to say.
"Are you okay? I was asleep..." A yawn and Izuku slapped his cheek, making the few people in the bar turn at him, now you woke her up, idiot! What were you thinking?! "Are you um, ok- okay, Eri-chan?"
There was a pause before the girl answered, "I'm alright..? Deku-nii, are you okay? Are you outside, it's kind of loud too. Why aren't you sleeping?" Izuku thought for a moment, he couldn't tell her, she's just nine, she wouldn't understand.
"Oh I'm-- Imma go- yeah, go to sleep, I'm sorry I woke you up, Er-Eri." What am I even saying? Why did I call her in the first place?
"Oh, okay... be okay then, goodnight, Deku-Nii!" Izuku smiled, it was weak but at least she's alright. "Good-- Goodnight, Eri-chan..." Hanging up the phone, he set it aside and banged his forehead on the wooden table, he sighed.
A young woman appeared out of nowhere, Izuku's head was spinning as she sat down, "Hey handsome." The boy's mind was occupied with the absurd phone call he'd just made that he failed to notice the woman's hands swinging around his shoulders. "What's a guy like you doing here all alone?"
Once Izuku did notice her, he decided he had no energy to even tell her to go away. Then he saw a waitress making her way to his table completely ignoring the look on her face, "Anything else, sir?" The woman looked at the waitress and then at the wasted boy, smiling as she gave Izuku's shoulders a squeeze.
"Ye-Yeah I'll have two more-- two more beers, pl'se."
"Of course, coming right up."
"What... what do you want? Sto-- stop that, for A-All Might's sa...sake..!" He shrugged her off while reaching for his cigarettes, the woman laid her head over her arm on the table as her other hand grabbed the lighter, Izuku didn't see it happen as he slipped a cigar between his lips.
