Chapter 28

"IZU-CHAN!!" Before Izuku could even say 'hi', Toga's arms were wrapped around his neck, "I'm so glad to see you! I haven't seen you in like forever!" She pulled back, allowing the green-haired boy to take a better look at her.

Toga had grown taller just a tidbit, her hair on the other hand was a different story. Instead of messy buns, it was a low braid; her fangs remained the same, she was in a baggy hoodie and shorts, long fluffy socks were a fairy pink, she looks well--

"Wow, have you lost weight? You used to be a lot more buffed up--"

"Why don't we sit down, Himiko-chan? It's been a while." Ochako cut her off, seeing an uncomfortable expression on her best friend's face. They all knew Izuku had lost weight but no one dared to mention it. She knew he wasn't eating, even though he said he didn't have the appetite lately that night in Katsuki's dorm, she knew there was more to the story.

"Right, yeah... here, c'mon Izu-chan! Let me show you what I made in sewing class." Himiko's enthusiasm was overwhelming, the blonde grabbed his hand and sat him on the huge pillows in the corner of her room. He used to visit at first, before everything went all downhill, he guessed it was almost eight months ago since he last saw her, nonetheless, he apparently wasn't ready to go out again.

So that's how the next hour went, Izuku was mostly spaced out while the two girls talked over things; it was all going well until Ochako said she needed to use the restroom. As soon as the brunette left, Toga scooted closer to Izuku and put her hand over his shoulder. "Are you really okay, Izuku?"

When Toga was serious, her personality did a one-eighty; Izuku had seen it time and time again but this time, he was caught off guard. "W-What do you mean, Toga-san?"

"I can smell blood from you... it's kinda warm here as well and you haven't taken off your zip up, you also look pale. I thought you said we wouldn't lie to each other. You have helped me so much, I just want to be able to help you too even a little."

"Look, Tog-- Himiko, I get it. I really do but I'm fine- Hey! W-What are you doing?" Toga yanked up his sleeve, revealing his healing wounds, Izuku wanted to get up and run. He had done everything he could for the blonde, he was the main reason why she wasn't thrown into a cell in Tartarus and brought to a mental institution where she could recover and be rehabilitated instead. He was the hero, he was her hero, he didn't want her to see him like this.

His trail of thoughts was interrupted by a hug before he got a chance to explain himself, he felt tears dropping down his neck. "Himiko-chan, I'm alright, please don't cry..." He didn't even believe that himself if he was being honest. "I- I don't understand..! Why aren't you getting help? You deserve it, you were the one to help me get better, you were the one who said everyone deserves to be saved..!"

She pulled back, hands resting on her lap, her golden eyes fixed on his figure; she sniffed, Izuku could feel himself tear up at the words, "You don't always have to be the hero, Izuku... you need saving too, why can't you see that?"

Ochako watched from the side of the door, as much as she wanted to be there, she knew Izuku needed to hear those words. He needed to hear them from someone other than the class and the teachers. Maybe then he could understand how important he is, hero or not.

"I'm... I'm sorry, Himiko. Please don't cry, Kacchan is helping me... as well as class A and all the teachers, I'm getting better, I hate that you found out 'cause now I feel like a hypocrite." Izuku chuckled, it felt comforting to say it out loud to someone other than the people who were always around. Now it was time to see her happy, he knew Toga loved to hear about love so after a short debate in his head, he smiled.

"Himiko-chan," He leaned in for a whisper, seeing her look up with curiousness-filled eyes, "Me and Kacchan kissed." A squeal and she jumped from her spot, making Izuku fall back on the soft pillows, "You and explosion boy kissed?!"
