Ballora opened her eye for the first time in weeks. They glanced between the technicians before her. There were three of them. They tilted her head, initiating a quick scan.
Charlotte Sanders-head technician
Dan Shnyder-technician
Emilia Fowler-technician in training
Charlotte stepped forward to greet them, and Ballora bowed her head in response. They needed to be respectful to her authority figures.
"Hello, Ballora. It's wonderful to meet you. I am Charlotte, the head technician." Ballora looked up again, eye open. They smiled.
"Hello Head Technician Charlotte. I'm honored to meet you." She spoke, their voice perfectly tailored to respect and politeness. If she was kind, and good, they would keep them. They wouldn't ship her off.
Charlotte glanced at their eye and frowned. Ballora tilted her head in confusion. Something was clearly bothering her. What was it?
"I hadn't noticed that you can't open your other eye... lean down here for a moment, let me take a look." Ballora blinked, confused, but leaned down as Charlotte asked.
The head technician carefully felt along the seam of their faceplate, letting out a small "ah-hah!" as she seemingly found what she was looking for. Ballora startled slightly as Charlotte began to crank something.
After six quick clicks, Ballora's eye flew open. She startled backwards, blinking with both eyes. They looked around, unused to having such a wide range of vision. She turned their head to look down at Charlotte curiously.
"A quick fix. Your spring lock mechanisms for your faceplates were too tight. It would only allow for opening and closing those faceplates." Ballora nodded. Thought sounded about right. She bowed her head to Charlotte.
"Thank you, Head Technician Charlotte. I am extremely grateful." Charlotte smiled, easily waving her off. Ballora smiled back, happy about these outcomes.
