Mike supposed casually carrying a dead child around a crowded Pizza plex wasn't a very good idea in the first place. But could you blame him? Evan could be very persuasive when he wanted to be.
That led to his current problem. Evan was crying and he was stuck trying to calm a random Karen down. She kept getting closer and closer, making rude comments.
"And why do you even have that child!? You know what, I bet you're a kidnapper! KIDNAPPER!" Mike's eyes widened, and he clenched his jaw. Evan started sobbing harder.
Mike softly shushed Evan before glaring at the Karen. She smirked, unaware of Bonnie slowly approaching behind her.
"Actually, he's my brother. And you're scaring him. In addition to those two facts, I'm the head security guard." He hissed. The Karen blinked, a little color draining from her face.
Mike stared back at her impassively, ignoring the phones directed at them. They didn't matter. What mattered was letting this damn Karen know she couldn't do that kind of crap.
"W-well, you aren't worth my time anyways! And if I see you on the news, I'll know I was right all along!" The woman stormed off without another word. Mike glared after her for a moment before turning his attention to Evan.
He winced, and turned to walk into one of the break rooms. He ignored the few people rushing after him to ask questions, slamming the 'employees only' door in their faces.
He sat down on a chair, rubbing Evan's back. He wasn't very good at comforting people, but he could damn well try.
He shushed him quietly, hugging the ghost to his chest. Evan's sobs finally quieted down to small sniffles, but Mike didn't push. He didn't ask.
He let Evan stay there for as long as he needed, glaring at any employee whose looks lingered for more than a second. Eventually Evan tugged on his shirt and point at the door. Mike got up, going back out and continuing his rounds.
For some reason, everyone left him and his brother be, except for a few nervous looking teens asking for a picture with them. Her shrugged. Asked Evan if it was okay, and took the picture.
It was later that night when he realized the experimental illusion disk hiding his current lack of eyes and the gnarly scars flickered when he got too emotional. And he had been very emotional. Huh. Maybe that's why they didn't mess with him and Evan. Wait, that meant-
"Oh foR FU-"
