Hurting hurts. So why not make them happy?

Benny twirled around Francis as he worked on... something. It was fun to dance. Actually, wasn't there a dancing animatronic now? Oh, they couldn't wait to meet them!

But, Francis would have to approve it. He said that not everyone could be trusted. That sucked. Benny couldn't understand why nobody could work together. It was stupid!

They thought that everyone should just agree to disagree. And not to hurt each other. Hurting wasn't nice, on either side. He had hurt people and been hurt. He didn't understand why people still did it anyway.

But she seemed nice... Foxy said they were a very good dancer. Benny wanted to be a good dancer. They knew they were alright, but they wanted to be better than alright. Everyone needed to start somewhere though.

They hummed, hopping delicately around Francis with a grin. Their tail twitched as they bent over his shoulder to peek at his work. 1's and 0's, all in an acidic green, assaulted their eyes. They grimaced and pulled back, blinking. Ow. That color wasn't nice.

They hoped someone else liked that color, because they didn't. That would balance it out. Other colors got balanced out by people liking and disliking them. Right?

Huh. They would need to think about that.

Benny sniffed "poshly"(they read it in a story. They hoped they were doing it right.) And turned away, twirling toward the various props they'd taken from lost and found or storage.

No one had missed anything yet.

Well, one time a girl cried because she couldn't find her bear, so Benny put it propped up where they couldn't see them. so when she turned around she found it. She had smiled so big, it made Benny really happy!

They wished they could make other people smile that big. They huffed. They watched all the humans, and half of them weren't happy often enough. Maddie, Mike, Charlotte... was their name J? No, it was spelt Jay. Right? Maybe. Didn't matter.

They knew Maddie was better now, that she was just mad because Jay(?) had the "better" job. Benny liked Maddie's stories! They'd have to wait longer if she had Jay's job! Silly human.

So. Maddie liked orange most. Her favorite food was alfredo, whatever that was. Francis said it was pasta with white sauce, and usually chicken too. Oh! Idea! He had an orange chicken toy buried around here somewhere!

He picked through the pile as he thought. Mike liked purple least but also most sometimes. Usually he prefered yellow and pink, though. His favorite animal was a bear, but not yellow ones. He hated yellow ones. He really liked white bears though.

There was a little wind-up white bear with blue eyes and a magenta tummy, pink cheeks, magenta paws... he had a little bowtie too! Benny hardly noticed when he found the bear and set it next to the chicken he had found at some point.

Alright, Charlotte liked... blue. And purple. And pink. Hm. Which did she like most... Benny wasn't sure. They knew she liked fabric. She sewed sometimes. And she had funny flags in her office. One that was... well, blue, purple, and pink. And one that was blue, pink, and white, and the same on the top and bottom.

So maybe she liked blue and pink more? But they were different types of blues and pinks... her favorite fruit was a peach. They had a pink peach squishy thing somewhere.

Jay liked green. They wore green a lot. Almost every day. Other than that, blue. Their favorite fruit was an apple, their lucky number was five... they had a group of five green apples put in a pile? It was another squishy thing. But this one was more squishy. And it had seams.

They pulled the fruit and pile of fruit from the recesses of the pile, grabbing the chicken and bear as they did. Standing, they turned to march for the door. They had humans ro make happy!

They ignored Francis's confused grunt as they left. He'd be fine.

Oh, the joys of animatronics! What was that? Karens? Ah, shoot.Where stories live. Discover now
