"Do you think that the old rumors about the missing kids are true?"
"What?" Fiona asked, looking at Nia. The girl did her best to shrug, draped on her back over the couch, legs dangling off the arm.
"I just mean... I've been around all of you guys at night. I used to be a total believer, really only got this job because I was desperate, but now... you guys aren't malicious or murderous. At all." Nia frowned.
"At the same time... if it wasn't the band, who was it? Some crazy serial kidnapper? Then, no one was found or blamed, and they're still out there." She moved, sitting up proper on the couch, her face screwed up in concern.
"Nia..." Fiona hesitated.
The human perked up. Fiona's face showed as much distress as an animatronic could.
"...I physically cannot disclose that information. All I can say is that it wasn't by anyone's choice. Anyone's. Not even the human." Nia's eyes grew wide.
"Human..." She murmured. "Mind control? How..." Her eyebrows furrowed as Fiona looked away.
A heavy silence settled over them, and Nia felt more questions weighing on her chest than before.
