Warnings: Pet loss, grief
The sky outside is crying
It is no place for a pet
And I want to take you in
'Cause you don't like being wet
The sun today is blinding
I am sweating in my chair
And I want to take you in
'Cause you still don't like fresh air
The dog next door is barking
In a manner lacking poise
And I want to take you in
'Cause you don't like all the noise
The starry night is chilly
I guess Jack Frost's being bold
And I want to take you in
'Cause you don't like being cold
I just wish you could come in
And come running back to me
You would jump into my arms
Just like how it used to be
Please don't think that I'm a fool
I can't help my vicious mind
'Cause I know that if I looked
I would not like what I find
So I say you can't come in-
There is nothing I can do
For the body in the dirt-
It was never really you
