If I had a year to live
I would not go to class again
I'd find a way that I could help
Without much knowledge, there and then
And if I had a month to live
I would not waste it on my phone
I'd hang out with those I could
Rather than just be alone
And if I had a week to live
I would not stay inside that much
I'd gaze up at the stars at night
Or lay beneath the sun's warm touch
And if I had a day to live
I would not be writing these words
I'd hold so close to those I love—
Hope people visit me in herds
...
I find it funny how I live
Like time's a string to twist and bend
But if I knew when it'd run out
I'd stretch it to its painful end
