7. The Best Pals Meet.
"Listen carefully, my baby.", Avneet said, putting ishaan down, "I'm gonna be a little busy today. So I want you to be a good boy and not run around."
Ishaan nods his head and salutes her like a solider. "Yessss, mumma!" and Avneet has to squint her eyes to see if the boy is serious about agreeing but she finds zero percent of it which is not really surprising.
"When does he ever listen to me?", she asks as her son waddles away to Jannat who just got out of the passenger seat after applying sunscreen to her face. She also has sunglasses placed on her eyes to shield her eyes from the sunlight.
Jannat beams and pulls out another pair of sunglasses, a small ones, from her pouch and place it on Ishaan's face who squeals.
Avneet rolls her eyes. Here goes the daily drama of her life.
"Beautiful Aunt and his handsome prince.", Jannat exclaimed, taking a selfie of herself with her son who was making a very serious face for the pic and Avneet rolls her eyes as she instantly hears a ding in her pant's pocket where she kept her phone, most definitely a snapchat notification from Jannat.
Just how fast is Jannat Zubair? Avneet scoffs.
"Ishu, baby, are you hungry?", she then hears Jannat ask Ishaan as proceeds to take out four suitcases and two duffle bags out from the car.
"You both just had breakfast! Stop talking and help me, jann!", Avneet snaps at Jannat who rolls her eyes, yeah.
"Yeah, yeah. I know. I was just thinking about the poor child. Sue me." Jannat says, as if offended.
"I wish.", Avneet mumbled under her breath.
Suddenly, Jannat claps her hands. "Alright, time for work.", she announced like it was a fucking circus and she was the Trainor there, "You take these boxes to the elevator and I'll carry all the precious stuff so it's safe.", she ordered pointing out to the moving truck which had almost eight big boxes that were to be moved.
Avneet nods. "Yeah, okay. Thanks, finally.", she rolls her eyes and picks up a box with ease.
She watches as Jannat bends down and picks Ishaan up in her arms and marches off to the direction of the elevator talking passionately about some random things, without even sparing her another glance.
Most probably about lizards 'cause both of them hate lizards with a passion. (Oh! me too!)
Maybe she'll get back after dropping Ishaan by the elevators. She thinks to herself and waits for a while for Jannat to come back so she could tell her which of the boxes needed to be handled with care.
"Hello, ma'am. Mr.Singh asked me to help with your stuff today as well. Here, let me carry these for you. You can leave it, another worker will be here soon.", a worker that appears says taking the box from her hands, "You don't need to carry these."
Avneet shakes her head and smiles gratefully. "It's okay, thank you. I'd like to help.", she says and picks up a duffle back and a suitcase.
They both walk there and see Ishaan and Jannat standing near the elevator laughing about something.
"Jann? Why did you not come back for stuff?", Avneet asks Jannat who frowns.
"What do you mean? I have the most precious thing you own, my baby ishu. I'mma carry my little prince 'cause I'm a queen, not your servant. Carry your own stuff.", she says, looking at her up and down as if disgusted.
Avneet rolls her eyes. "And you said you came to help. Thank you for the great help.", she muttered to herself sarcastically.
"You're welcome!"
