26.Dada
"C-come inside please, Sid.", Avneet started out after she saw Siddharth standing there, just standing in the doorway just staring at Ishaan with a broken look.
Siddharth didn't even look up at Avneet, kept his gaze down at Ishaan. He clenched his jaw. If he looks at Avneet, he'll loose shit, he knew.
"Mumma! Lwook Siddo!", Ishaan exclaimed to Avneet who passed him a strained smile.
"Siddo can meet Dada too! Rwight, Mumma?"
Avneet froze in her place and let out a small gasp like noise startled by the question. Siddharth let out a small scoff as if saying 'It's what you've done, Avneet!'
The brunette bit her lips and held his hand and sternly glared at Ishaan, silently telling him to keep quiet.
"Let's get inside first a-and then talk."
Siddharth said nothing but walked inside when Avneet step aside to let him in. He immediately walked into the living room followed by the patter of little feet behind him.
Avneet leaned her forehead against the door after she closed it and wiped her tears.
This is so so harder than I've thought.
She can't even imagine how Siddharth must be feeling.
She walked into the living room to see Siddharth sitting on the couch with a glass of water in his hands which were visibly shaking and he was bouncing his left knee up and down.
Ishaan was nowhere to be seen but soon she found him running outside of his room with his notebook in his little hands.
"Siddo!", he excitedly hopped to Siddharth who immediately kept the glass away and caught the boy who jumped on him and made him sit on the couch beside him.
"Ishaan got A!", he beemed at him as he literally shoved the notebook to Siddharth's face who blinked and moved his head away before Ishaan could make him blind by poking his eyes.
He smiled proudly at the colorful coloring of his son.
It doesn't matter to him if it was just a printed sheet on which an outline of the ice cream was drawn and how Ishaan had colored the top of it black, messily.
"It ish chocolate ice-crweam!", he then informed showing his cute teeth in a wide smile making Siddharth laugh.
His son was definitely as creative as him.
"It looks very tasty, ishu!", Siddharth praised as he ruffled his hair. Ishaan beemed at him before frowning.
"But aayush got A-plush! Teacher not give Ishaan star because it wash not pwink.", he then huffed and in a pout.
Siddharth frowned at this. That was so mean of the teacher. What's wrong if he had colored it in some other color? Oh, fucking school and it's stereotypes.
"Should I complain to your principal about the teacher, baby? Is she mean to you?", Siddharth asked him and Ishaan pouted.
"Nu, not mean.", he said, the teacher wasn't.
Avneet's eyes widened as she heard what Siddharth was saying. Has he gone mad? He can't be serious about this. The teacher was just doing her job.
"Really?", Siddharth asked
again, just to be sure. Ishaan nodded his head making Siddharth hum before his eyes softened."B-but if someone is mean to you, you should tell me, hm?"
I'll fight the world for you.
Ishaan nodded again and made an 'OK' sign with his hands, giggling.
