45. Elevator Sex

"Where are you going?" Siddharth frowned when he saw Avneet picking up her laptop, about to walk out of the room.

"Huh, nothing. Just gonna practice while you both watch the movie." The latter answered while Siddharth paused the movie hushing his son who whined, his frown deepening.

"Why? Why don't you join us?", Siddharth asked.

"I-" Avneet was tongue tied. She didn't know what to say.

"Yesh! Mumma come cuddle!", Ishaan whined from in between Siddharth's arm, just his fluffy head peaking out from the cozy blanket they both were huddled inside.

Avneet chuckled, apologetically. "Ah no, you both can watch, I'll just prac-"

Siddharth sighed deeply, audibly, cutting Avneet off. The younger watched
Siddharth's expression, if she read correctly, it looked defeated, perhaps?

"Are you uncomfortable with me here, Avneet? Shall I leave?", Avneet asked, his voice extremely soft, defeated if you may say. "You don't have to avoid our Ishaan 'cause of it."

Avneet looked at him in shock, obviously caught off
gaurd. Her mouth gaped as she looked at him in partial shock, partial disbelief.

"What? Sid, no, it's not like--"

"Yes, Avneet. Yes.", Siddharth interrupted, "You're always like that. Always running away, escaping whenever we ask to spend time with you, like all of us together. What's your problem? If I am, I'll leave. You just have to say-"

"Dada...", Ishaan mumbled softly, cutting Siddharth off. Peering up at his face, he asked, "Why you angwy?"

Siddharth sighed, pressing a kiss to his head. "Dad's not angry, love. He's just tired." He looked in Avneet's direction, not glancing at her face though. "I'll leave so you don't have to--"

Avneet who was processing all this information just shouted a 'no'. "Sid... Please.", she almost pleaded, "That wasn't my intention."

Siddharth shook his head. "It's alright. You don't have to when you don't want to."

"Dada, where are you going?" Ishaan asked when Siddharth put him down away
his lap and beside him.

"Dada's sleepy, bunny." Siddharth gave him a small smile. "I'm gonna go home and sleep. You watch movies with mumma and then sleep, 'kay?" Saying that he got up, pressing a kiss to Ishaan's cheek who pouted, obviously sad but didn't want to hold his father back.

"Buhbye!", he waved with a pout.

Avneet looked helplessly as Siddharth got up, ignoring her pleading expression. He couldn't say anything in front of Ishaan, because it might look like they're fighting and he doesn't want to give the impression that they're fighting.

Avneet presses play so the movie continues and then runs back after Siddharth after telling Ishaan that she will be back.

"Sid! Wait- please!"

She runs all the way to the elevator just to catch Siddharth who just ignored the shouts of his name as if he wasn't the one avneet was calling out for. The younger manages to get in through the doors before Siddharth could close the doors.

Siddharth huffs, rolling his eyes as Avneet pants, giving him a glare which doesn't scare Siddharth one bit.

"I told you to wait." Avneet scoffed in between breaths.

Siddharth just turned his head away, ignoring her. Avneet pressed her lips in a thin line, getting angry.

Siddharth went ahead, face still blank as ever as he tried to press the button to his floor but Avneet stepped right in front of him, blocking the way to the panel. The older let out a breath through his nose, sheer irritation cracking through his expression.
