14. 'Ashu & Ishu'
"Shaan, baby, you should walk."
Avneet watched as the little guy shook his head and flaired his arms around, wanting to be picked. "Nu!", he whined, "mumma carry Ishaan!"
Avneet narrowed her eyes at him and shook her head stubbornly, herself. "No. You're three now, almost four. A big boy. You should walk yourself!", she chastised.
Ishaan groaned, his eyes only half-open. "Nuu!", he again whined.
Avneet pulled her hands up.
"See, mumma is holding a bag. How will she pick Ishaan up?", she asked as she showed him the grocery bag.
The mother and son duo had gone for a little walk and bought some vegetables and snacks.
"Mumma strong!"
Avneet raised an eyebrow, narrowing her eyes playfully. "Smooth like butter but it won't get you anywhere, baby. You gotta walk today.", she declared.
And that was the cue for the little one to start fake-crying.
Avneet frowned. She was fed up now. The little guy keeps throwing tantrums daily nowadays. "Avn-"
"Ishu!"
Ishaan, at instant, beemed at the voice, forgetting that he was crying while Avneet rolled her dark brown eyes, letting out of a huff.
"Good, now good for Ishaan that he won't have to walk for even a second, hm? Such nice people to be around.", she muttered sarcastically to herself before turning around to witness the drama that goes on daily now.
"Abhi!"
"Little Cutie!"
And within seconds Abhi had Ishaan in his arms and was swirling him around, drawing out squeals and giggles from the boy.
"Hello to you too, Abhi. Thanks for asking, I'm great.", Avneet smiled sarcastically at Abhi who let out a laugh.
They had became a new duo of bestfriends.
Abhishek smiled at Avneet, pressing a kiss to Ishaan's forehead who was now playing with his Chanel neck piece. "Don't be salty, Avneetyy. Why don't you go and ask for the attention from
some of those fanboys, you attention-seeker?", he teased her.Avneet rolled her eyes but smiled. "Maybe I will.", she huffed, "At least they care.", she said.
Abhishek nodded. "At least you're not denying that you're an absolute attention seeker!", he pointed out.
Avneet rolled her eyes. "My personality demands attention.", she sassily remarked and this time Abhishek was the one to roll his eyes.
"What were you both upto?", he asked Avneet as Ishaan babbled a story about his school to him and he nodded sometimes paying attention to the words.
Avneet shrugged. "Nothing special. Just had a walk with this one," she gestured to Ishaan, "and bought some things.", she said, again raising her arm to show the dangling grocery bag. "And this boy here refuses to walk. Even when through half the way I carried him."
"Let him be. He's just a baby.",he said pressing the boy to his chest who squeaked but snuggled to him anyways, "Is my little cutie tired? His legs ache? Poor ishu.", he cooed at the boy who nodded when asked if tired.
"Whatever." Avneet shook her head. "Put him down, we're gonna walk till the elevator. That's it!", she ordered.
Abhishek shook his head. "Don't be so cruel, Avneetyy. It's okay, I'll carry my baby.", he said.
