I woke up with Eli squeezing me into his chest. “Good morning,” I whispered.
“Good morning,” He said. I could hear the happiness in his voice. I giggled.
“Why are you so happy this morning?” I laughed.
“Have you seen your face in the morning?” He smiled. I scowled.
“I know my hair isn’t perfect every morning, no need to laugh about it!” I snapped. He laughed.
“That’s not what I was going to say. I was going to say it was beautiful, especially when you sleep,” He smiled. My scowl turned into a smile with a blush painted over my cheeks.
“Thanks,” I smiled. He kissed my forehead.
“Let’s get out of bed, the others went to the closest city, a place called Gatlinburg,” he told me.
“Okay, I’m going to take a shower,” I informed him.
“Can I join?” he smirked.
“No, but you can make us some breakfast,” I smiled. He frowned.
“Okay, but only because I am a great cook,” he smirked. I scoffed.
“Yeah, okay,” I said sarcastically. “Pass me my yellow mustache tee?” I asked. He threw it to me as I went to pick up some black skinny cargo pants. I set my clothes on the bed neatly and walked into the bathroom. Since I haven’t described it yet, I will now.
The bathroom was huge with marble counters against the wall, two sinks carved into the rock. A large mirror hung above it, tilted forward about 25 degrees. Beneath it were chocolate cabinets. An aquarium sat on the wall next to that. It was surrounded by a chocolate solid wood. On the wall opposite of the sink was a large white Jacuzzi bath tub. Next to that was a chrome shower enclosed in glass and silver lining. The toilet had its own little room that was in the shape of hexagon. The walls were painted a deep chocolate color and the pure white toilet was set across from the door and a white semi-transparent trash can sat next to the toilet. The floor was covered in white tiles and there were russet tiles for every five white tiles. I honestly, have never seen a more beautiful bathroom anywhere, not even on TV.
I stepped out of my PJs and turned on the shower. The hot water pounded against my skin. I grabbed the shampoo that sat on the shelf carved into the wall. I massaged it into my hair, shutting my eyes. The smell of coconuts and chocolate filled my nostrils. I smiled as I rinsed it out. I massaged another handful of goopy shampoo in my hair. The suds fell in my eyes and they burned wildly. I hissed in pain as I went to rinse it out of my eyes. I heard the door open and close. My heart skipped a beat as I thought, Damn! In all the scary movies a girl dies in the shower! Dammit!!! My heart was racing. I wasn’t ready to die when the zombie apocalypse started, I wasn’t ready to die when Vichen promised me death, and I’m sure as hell not ready to die now. I heard feet pounding on the white and brown tiles. My breathing was loud and heavy. I pried open my eyes and they felt as if they were on fire. I snapped them shut. I let out a shaky breath as I pried open my eyes slowly. I grabbed the closest thing to me; a bottle of shampoo. I sighed, yeah, I’m gonna shampoo them to death… Suddenly the footsteps stopped. I held in a breath and my heart stopped. Something slammed on the glass door and I let out a scream as I curled up so that I could protect my head and face from the glass. Of course, none of the glass broke and nobody stuck a knife in my throat. Instead I heard Eli laughing on the ground. I quickly put conditioner in my hair and rinsed. Then I washed my body and turned off the water. I pulled a towel from atop the shower and wrapped it around my body. I glared at Eli who was grinning on the toilet.
“Not nice,” I said angrily. He let out a soft chuckle.
“I know, but I couldn’t resist trying,” he smirked. I walked into the bedroom, slamming the door shut behind me. I grabbed a chair and stuck it under the doorknob, locking him in. I let my towel fall while Eli tried to open the door.
