“Are we there yet?” Staci whined. I let out a groan.

“Staci, when the car stops in front of a giant mall, that’s when we’ll be there,” Faith said. The ride to Edmonton was long but we finally made it. I called Aaron seconds after we arrived.

“Hey,” I grinned.

“Hey, Angel,” he responded. He sound tired and out of breath.

“Are you okay?” I asked.

“Yeah, running away from zombies is hard work,” he huffed.

“Now you know how I’ve felt for the past two years,” I chuckled.

“I guess you’re right,” he said.

“So do any of you know how to fly?” I asked.

“Yeah I do,” he responded.

“One, you’re the best adopted dad ever, two, yes I have officially made you my father, three, can you teach me how to fly, and lastly, come fly your gang here to the West Edmonton Mall and use a big plane,” I commanded.

“Whatever you say, Angel,” he said. I could tell he was rolling his eyes. I laughed.

“Just do it!” I demanded into the phone. “I love you!”

“Be safe,” he said.

“I should be saying that to you,” I chuckled. “Bye.”

“Bye,” he said. Click! The call had ended. I sighed and walked back towards my friends.

“So, Aaron and his little gang of agents will be here in a few hours hopefully,” I announced. Approving murmurs  went through the group. “Maybe we should start going towards the mall?” I suggested.

“I’ll drive!” Eli volunteered.

“Shot gun!” All the guys, Faith and I yelled in unison.

“Nose-goes, belly button!” I screamed. I put a finger to my nose and jabbed my belly button with the same finger.

As the group was rippling through their turns, I rushed towards the open seat. I leaped in the seat, but a pair of hands grabbed my ankles. “NO!” I screamed as it pulled me backwards and I grabbed the car door. Another pair of hands reached under my armpits and tickled. I laughed and let go of the door, resulting in me on my butt with an oof! I looked up as Michael sat in the glorious front seat. I cursed and stood up. I grumbled as I made my way into the back seat. I saw Michael chuckling from the front seat. He saw me pouting and smirked. “If you want to live, you’d wipe that smirk on your face,” I threatened angrily. The smirk slipped of his face quickly as the others filed into the van behind me. By the time we found the mall the sun had sunken behind the buildings and horizon. I hoped out the car, snow crunching beneath my feet, and grabbed a couple of guns, putting them in my thigh holster. I put my machetes in their rightful place on my back.

“Faith, Eli, and Chase, follow me. The rest of you stay here, just in case. If you see a zombie, kill on sight. If you see a human, let them be,” I ordered sternly.

“We know what to do Gwyn, just go,” Michael shooed. I rolled my eyes.

“Don’t get killed,” I warned.

“We won’t,” they chorused. I nodded and closed the car door. The others had their weapons of choice either tucked away or in their hands. I grabbed one of my guns that had a tiny laser attached to it. I turned it on and walked towards the mall with the others in tow. I crept closer and closer until I had finally made my way into the large building. I made my way through a corridor with nothing but silence behind and beyond me.
