When the prophecy have been continuously showing its warnings and signs, Furina didn't know but to panick in front you.

The tension in the courtroom thickens as Furina seems increasingly more worried and anxious. Her gaze shifts around the room nervously.

She turns to you with a face that is slowly but surely contorting into one that resembles a growing amount of stress.

"This... this cannot be happening." Furina whispers to you with an expression that is somewhere between fear and utter astonishment.

"Calm down, mon amour." You softly spoke to her since any more harsh words could break her in a second.

"I know that you're doing everything you can to save your nation. To save your people."

Furina seems relieved with your words. She turns her gaze back towards the courtroom, a little less anxious than previously. Then, she leans in and whispers to you.

"I'm doing everything I can for my people but...I fear it won't be enough." She whispers as her gaze shifts around the courtroom again.

You see as small beads of sweat trickle down her temple and a hand slowly makes it's way to her forehead.

"No, it is enough, Furina. You're seeking answers over the past hundreds years on how to prevent the prophecy from coming true until this very day."

"I know things aren't looking so great today because of the water levels that have currently increased, but that doesn't stop you from continuing forward, yes?"

Furina's expression remains filled with worry but shifts back towards relief thanks to your reassurance. She gives you a nod and speaks to you with a hint of desperation in her voice.

"I'm trying my best to find the answers I need to save my people... but it's becoming harder and harder to do with each day that passes. As the hydro archon, I've been trying to prevent the worst, but nothing's worked. I've even taken a step back to try and assess the situation but I am honestly at a loss."

You just sighed before slowly cupping her chin and remove the tears away in her eyes.

Furina seemed to lean into your touch as she closes her eyes and attempts to settle herself.

"It's just so frustrating..." She said with a heavy sigh. Her cheeks are soft and supple as her cheeks flush slightly.

"Sometimes, I feel like I am just completely in over my head." She whispered before she lets her head fall onto your shoulder.

"Don't doubt your capabilities, mon amour. I'm sure your 'mirror-you' didn't regret in choosing you, and neither have I."

You hugged her close.

"I know that you may feel... a little emotional and insecure sometimes, but for me, your impurities are the best features within you. That's what makes you so perfect in my eyes. Please don't ever forget that."

A warm smile then spreads across Furina's face as she leans up and gives you a gentle kiss.

"Thank you for your kind words, it really does mean a lot to me." Furina whispers, burying her head onto your shoulder.

"But... there's just so much pressure on me at the moment, I'm just trying to do the best I can" She added with a hint of desperation and worry still present in her voice.

"We will find a way. Just don't give up on me, okay? As long as I'm here, you have someone who will always stand by your side. Someone who will support you, and someone who will comfort you."

With your statement, Furina just wraps her arms around you and holds you closer.

"Thank you... thank you so much." She says softly.

Her gaze then shifts towards the courtroom, the tension within the courtroom appears to have broken her out of her anxious state.

"As long as I have you by my side... I know everything will be alright."

You nod, "That's right. You don't have to keep up the act when you're with me. Just being yourself is enough."

"Also... it's been a long day for you isn't? So you should take a rest. Don't worry, I'll be right here until you fall asleep."

With that, Furina seemed to relax as you gently kissed her forehead. A calmness seemed to come across Furina as her gaze shifted down to your lips. She took a moment to think of what to say next before eventually speaking.

"That...that sounds lovely." Furina whispers with a sweet smile.

"Thank you, for everything, Y/n."

She slowly lean back into you as her eyes flutter and she begins to drift to sleep, you can feel a warm exhale as she settles down onto you.

"You truly are my shining light" Furina said as she slowly drifts in to slumber.

"And you'll always be my goddess..." You added with a mumbled voice.

Furina let out a small snore as she shifted in her sleep, wrapping her arms around you as her head lay against your shoulder.

'...I swear I'll do everything I can to protect that smile of yours, Furina.' You solemnly declared to yourself.

You then fixed your gaze at her sleeping figure. She looked utterly peaceful as you held her close. It seemed that the worries and stress on her mind had faded away for now as she rested comfortably in your embrace; her safe haven.
