[Y/n's PoV]

I was currently at a party held by my family's mansion. The room was filled with a crowd of people, all talking and mingling with one another.

Waiters and waitresses walked among the people with trays of delectable snacks and fine wines, all serving the guests to provide the best party experience possible.

The hall was filled with the sounds of many chattering voices and laughter. The guests were all dressed in their finest clothing, making them look beautiful and elegant as they interacted with one another. They would talk about a range of topics, from politics to fashion to recent gossip.

On the second floor, I stood at the edge of an elaborate balcony, looking down at the crowd below. I held a glass of wine in my hand, taking slow sips as I watched everyone mingling and chatting with one another.

Hold on— Aren't they...

I felt my breath catch in my throat as I suddenly saw some familiar figures entered the party. I immediately recognized who they were and quickly composed myself, forcing my breathing to return to normal as I gazed down at them from afar.

“You gotta be kidding me...”

I muttered under my breath as I continued to stare down at the new arrivals. My heart was racing as I wondered why they were here. My mind was filled with a slew of different thoughts and feelings, but I tried my hardest to remain calm.

I quickly made my way down the stairs and quickly approached my parents, who were busy chatting with some esteemed guests. I interrupted them politely, tugging slightly on my mother's sleeve to get their attention.

“Mom, hey, I need to talk with you both.”

My mother and father turned around to look at me with curious looks on their faces.

“Y/n, you seem troubled.” My mother said calmly.

“That's because I am. Why did you invite the Raiden Family to our house? You know I got a bit of history with Ms. Makoto's daughters...”

My parents exchanged a glance with each other before my father spoke up.

“We are the hosts of this party. We cannot ignore the Raiden Family and not give them an invitation. Besides, they are also our business partners. It would be disrespectful to not invite them with the company's huge success.”

“But...”

My mother spoke up again, placing a hand on my shoulder as she spoke.

“I know you have some history with them, but surely you are mature enough to put that aside for one night, right?”

“....”

My father spoke up once more, his expression serious and firm.

“Y/n, you're not a child anymore. You need to learn how to behave in society, regardless of personal feelings. This is a business event. You need to put on a good face and be courteous.”

I sighed, “...Yes father...”

“Good.” my father said with a satisfied nod.

“Now, come with us as we greet the Raiden Family.” My mother added as she linked her arm through mine, gently tugging me along with them.
