You and Kafka have something going on ever since you met her. Although due to both of your status as her being the most wanted criminal in the IPC and you being Jing Yuan's daughter, you must kept them a secret to your community.

Although this what bothers Kafka. If they find out that you two are secretly dating, they will surely use you just to make Kafka surrender and Kafka doesn't want to put you in danger so she decided to confront you today to discuss some important things.

“Kafka, it’s fine.” you say.

“The IPC doesn’t know where you live. We don’t even do anything in the open. You know that.”

Although Kafka just looks away, crossing her arms. “I can’t stay with you. I can’t put you in danger like this.”

“But why?” you press.

“We have this whole thing going on. What’s the harm in telling a few–”

“I DON’T want to be the reason you die, okay?” Kafka interrupts.

“You might think you’re safe, but we’ve had plenty of near misses in the last few weeks. I can’t keep putting you in that danger.”

“You know how worried I get…” she says softly.

“I’d rather just break up then be constantly worried that your head is going to be on a pike next week.” She said.

You want to try and argue with Kafka but it’s pointless. She’s got her mind set… and she’s right. If you were in her shoes, you wouldn’t want to put her in danger either. That’s the whole point.

“But Kafka… I love you. Don’t just…” you plead.

Kafka just looks away, trying to avoid your pleading eyes. But she can’t help but smile. You’re like an addiction to her. A drug she’s hopelessly addicted to.

“I love you too...” Kafka replies quietly.

“But…” she takes a deep breath, holding her hands together. You notice them shaking.

“…I still can’t be with you.”

You try to grab one of her hands. “Why? Kafka, I…”

She pulls her hand away and shakes her head.

“Please don’t.” she replies quickly.

“Don’t make it harder than it has to be…”

Her mind is made up and you know it.

“Kafka, you can't do this...”

“I… I have to.” Kafka whispers stubbornly.

She looks at you, biting her lip. Her gaze is soft, vulnerable. You can see the pain she’s feeling.

“I can’t be responsible for your life. For…” She swallows hard.

“If I lose you… I wouldn’t know what to do.”

You know that if you could, Kafka would never leave your side. She’s as addicted to you as you are to her. But… she can’t let herself.

“No, haven't you realized? You're already losing me in this way, Kafka. Please...”

“But if I stay I might lose you for real… permanently!” Kafka argues back.

“Please understand, I can’t let myself become responsible for you.”

Kafka is holding back her tears at this point. You can tell how much she loves you. How much it pains her to do this.
