Y/n developed an incurable disease, though she and Eula came from a noble family, there are always conflicts with them.

"Incurable disease..? Why... why did you hide it from me?!" Eula says in shock.

After everything they had been through together, why was this being hidden from her? She knew Y/n's family had a history of health problems, and yet, it still came as a surprise.

"...."

It always goes on like this, whenever they argue- Y/n will always keep silent to suppress her own thoughts. This was worse than the silent treatment. Y/n had been hiding this from her for a long time. She knew Y/n had a habit of internalizing her problems, but it hurts when 'she' was the one being given the cold shoulder...

Eula wasn't good with expressing her feelings, and she knew that all too well. She knew that she had an icy exterior, but she had a soft heart inside.

It bothered her that the people closest to her often didn't know what she was feeling. Not even her own girlfriend.

She sighs, turning away from Y/n and staring at the wall. She didn't like feeling the tension between them.

Tap...

Tap...

That was the sound she could only hear from behind her. When she turned around, Y/n was already smoking with her cigar.

"Godammit..." Eula whispered.

"You know I hate it when you smoke inside." She stated, watching as Y/n took a few more puffs from the cigar. She could see the ashes dropping onto the carpet from the corner of her eye.

"...Relax, you won't see me smoking soon." Y/n finally responded.

Although those words made Eula's heart plummet.

'Soon.'

'Soon..?'

"What do you mean by 'soon?' You aren't-"

She couldn't bring herself to say the word... or rather, she didn't want to accept it.

Her heart grew cold with those words, clenching her fist in anger upon hearing them while Y/n was just being so casual about it as though she was talking about the weather.

"Soon..? You say that so casually as if you're literally asking for it."

Eula was angry, yes, but more than that, she was confused. Why was Y/n not even trying to fight her fate?

"Are you worried? You shouldn't have to. After all, you know that this relationship was just an agreement for our family's clan to at least get along with each other."

Those words stung. It was true, Eula knew it, and yet, it still hurt. She remembered all the times they spent together, and how they grew to love each other...and yet, Y/n just said it like it meant nothing.

She just grits her teeth in irritation.

"Why are you being so calm about this? You're fucking telling me you're dying? Let me remind you that when you die, I'll make sure your family faces hell. I'll take my vengeance-"

"Both the Lawrence clan and L/n clan are already falling from grace. There's nothing we could do about it. Perhaps this is our punishment- it's just that ours was a lot worse than you people in the Lawrence clan." Y/n interrupted her.

Eula knew she was right about their clans. The L/n clan, as wealthy as they are, was slowly declining while the Lawrence clan already lost all influence.
