(18+) Starlight {Part 2}

[Y/n's PoV]

After finishing for today's concert, We went back to our booked hotel, and I was now in my room to rest.

Although I was still somewhat troubled after what just happened, the adrenaline from my anger eventually subsided and the exhaustion caught up to me. I walked back to my room in the hotel and took a deep breath before closing the door behind me and lay down on the bed.

I turned to face the ceiling and I noticed that I still felt very stressed even now, and decided to take a quick shower to refresh my mental state.

After that, I used the hair dryer to quickly dry my hair, and put on my silk robe without wearing anything else except it since it was almost midnight at some point.

"Hmm..?"

After hearing the knock on my door, I could tell immediately who it was just from the gentle knock. I walked over to the door and opened it, and there she was, Shenhe. With her facial expression now relaxed and the stoic look in her eyes slowly disappearing, she could be considered almost like a completely different person.

"Manager... May I come in...."

I only nodded my head before she went inside as I then closed the door and sit the side of the bed.

"Now what you brought here?"

She gave me a small smile as I invited here in. However, when she sat down next to me on the bed, I could sense her unease and nervousness.

"I just wanted to apologize..."

I sighed, "Shenhe, what that man did was not your fault."

"I know... but still... I know you only got that angry cause of me...."

Even though Shenhe was trying to stay calm, her body still trembled slightly from the residual adrenaline and rage still in her system. She took a deep breath before she continued speaking.

"It doesn't matter how many years I've practiced self-control, whenever a man acts inappropriately towards me, I always end up feeling extremely annoyed a bit helpless of what I was going to do..."

I smiled faintly before cupping her chin.

"I understand. Past traumas are not easy to be dealt with. Even that action was now past the present moment, it will still left a scar within one's memory."

"I know..." Shenhe said with a sigh. "I just wished that people like that would just stay away from me... They really trigger me so much and when I think about their attitude, it just makes me so angry..."

She then looked away, thinking about the incident earlier. Yet I only stopped her from remembering that event by adjusting my hand on her chin to make her look at me.

She looked back up at me with her eyes slightly widening at the sudden gesture. I felt her heart beating rapidly, I could tell from the slight changes in her expression as she tried to not let it get the best of her.

I took another deep breath, trying to suppress the lingering emotions from the incident and continued talking.

"But it's over now... There's no point in lingering on the past. What matter is that you're safe. And I will protect you with all that I have from those kind of animals whenever they're planning on touching you again."

Shenhe was about to say something in response or perhaps express her appreciation. However, she was cut off as her gaze was abruptly drawn to my hand that was stroking her chin.
