Assurance - Ei

Ei frequently invited you to take a stroll every night yet you always decline and have been keeping your distance lately to her due to some personal reasons and you wouldn't want to open up because you're afraid you might just waste her time by talking about it.

However, Ei seemed to noticed that there was something else on your mind, despite the way you tried to keep it to yourself.

"Is there something bothering you, dear?" She asked, raising an eyebrow.

Her voice sounded like it had a slight tinge to sadness to it.

"There is no need for us to hold back with each other. We are lovers, after all." She said with a small smile.

"...It's nothing..." You whispered.

"Tell me, Y/n, what is it that you do not wish to talk to me about?" Ei asked now, with a look of genuine concern in her eyes.

She no longer seemed as detached as she usually was, and she sounded like she genuinely wanted to help you now.

Even her demeanor was now much more of 'herself' than usual, as if she was truly trying to open her heart with you.

"No, it's not... that important... Let's just drop it please..." You said but Ei was stubborn as ever and wouldn't listen.

"I will not drop it." she said, with complete determination in her tone as she looked straight at you.

"Tell me what it is, Y/n."

Ei was determined to get the truth out of you. You could feel her gaze looking directly at your soul, as she waited for you to give her an answer. You knew she wouldn't budge on this at all.

You just stayed silent before walking passed her but Ei immediately teleported in front of you.

"No, you do not get the luxury of avoiding my queries, Y/n." she said, her voice now sounding slightly more firm and stern than before.

"You are trying to hide something from your Archon, your lover, which is most unacceptable. Therefore, I demand you to tell me what you have on your mind."

You just clicked your tongue in response.

"Can't you see, Ei? That's the problem... You're an Archon- a god! While I'm merely a human who was supposed to praise you and ask for your blessings."

Ei was visibly disappointed by your words, and a look of sadness once again appeared on her face as she sighed.

"Is that really how the relationship between us must be, Y/n? A relationship of a god and her worshipper?" She asked, sounding a bit upset.

"We are lovers, dear. And we both deserve to treat each other as equals. So please, tell me. What is on your mind?"

"...I'm sorry... 'Your Excellency'... But I must take my leave now."

You then rushed towards the door however Ei grabbed your hand before you could get to the door, now sounding much more like her stern self.

"Where do you think you are going, Y/n?" She asked, with a hint of annoyance in her voice.

"We are not finished with our talk yet."

"Yes... We are..." You whispered.

Ei now sounded much more like her usual self or rather the Shogun's personality, having dropped her previous gentle attitude entirely.

"You will not walk out that door, and you will not run away from me." she said now, sounding completely assertive.

"Your Excellency deserves honesty and sincerity - and I swear to not let you leave until you give me both."
