Wendy sat on the terrace of her boyfriends house, Romeo. She drove over there after her confrontation with Natsu; she was angry with him because he hit Lucy but she hoped that they would be able to work it out. She liked Lucy and had begun to see her as a big sister, letting her go would hurt. Even though Wendy didn't know her very long, she trusted her and that was important.

"Wendy, you feeling okay?" Romeo came from behind her and kissed her on her head.

"Yeah, just thinking a little. Turns out that my dad who I thought was my dad really isn't my dad." Wendy chuckled, not making sense of what she just said.

"You lost me there babe." Romeo said nonchalantly.

"You sound like you don't even care." Wendy shrugged him off.

"I do, I do care. I just think that you're over thinking it just a bit, you know." Romeo grabbed a chair and sat in front of her.

"Mr. Igneel is your dad, feelings and connections make a family. Blood is important but it's not everything. Look at my dad, he got re-married and Marissa is the greatest step-mom in the world. She takes care of me as if I were her own son." Romeo held her hand.

"You are my son. What my baby boy is saying is that the ones who take care of you and love you with no remorse are the ones that are the most valuable. People are not connected to one another by physical and tangible means. They are connected by heart and soul and love, that is the important part." Romeo looked at Marissa, she had played an important role in his life. Five years ago, his father had started dating her and his father liked to call him a trouble child. Then, a year later he had married her and he had to move in with his father.

He was everything a delinquent could be and got into the most trouble a kid could get into until one day he ended getting caught shoplifting from a store and had to call home. Marissa picked up.

Flashback:

Ring, Ring...

"Hello, Conbolt residence how may I help you?" Marissa had answered.

"Hello, Marissa." Romeo was hoping it wasn't her.

"Romeo, are you okay?" Marissa sounded concerned over the phone.

"I'm at the police station, can you come pick me up?" Romeo said it quickly, hoping she hadn't gotten any of it.

"I'll be right there." She hung up the phone.

Fifteen minutes later, Marissa was at the receptionist asking about him. He heard her say that she was looking for her son. Romeo couldn't believe that she said that, he was a jerk to her always but she still considered him her son. The policeman walked over to the cell he was in and opened the door.

"Your mom is here for you kid." The officer escorted him to the front. Marissa walked over to him and hugged him tightly.

"Are you okay? What happened to you? Where are your friends?" Marissa didn't look angry at Romeo, he gave a good look and thought her eyes were pretty even though they were full of worry. He could see why his dad liked her.

"Let's go, your dad is gonna be home soon and I had to borrow the credit card to bail you out." Marissa held Romeo's hand and led him out.

"Is dad angry with me?" Romeo spoke up.

"Yeah but I'll talk to him and it'll be okay." Marissa smiled, giving him confidence.

He shook his head, Marissa had shown his kindness and love when he had just committed a crime, she was okay in his book. That was the first time she had done it and she had kept doing whatever she needed to do for him until he noticed that he wanted to be like her. He stopped giving trouble and that's when he met Wendy. He had watched a prank go down, with his old group and kept saying that he would've been there and not getting to know Wendy. Wendy and Marissa had changed his life.

End of Flashback

"The doorbell is ringing, mom." Romeo nudged his mom.

"I'll be right back." Marissa kissed Romeo and Wendy on the top of their heads and rushed downstairs.

"She's right; no one would be able to tell it any better than her." Romeo grabbed Wendy's chin and brought his lips closer to hers, smashing them into hers. They were cutoff by a throat being cleared. They pulled away, blushing madly at each other.

"Wendy, can we talk?" Natsu had walked in on her and Romeo.

"Natsu, what are you doing here?" Wendy stood up, looking him in the eye.

"Came to talk to you about earlier. I didn't mean to interrupt anything." He winked, making Wendy blush.

"What do you want? I'm visiting a friend." Wendy looked at Romeo, who immediately stood after watching her motion to him.

"Hi, I'm Romeo. I'm the friend." Romeo pushed out his hand. Natsu took it and shook it.

"I noticed." Natsu said drying.

"Can you give us a minute?" Wendy whispered into his ear. He nodded and walked inside.

"Mom said that you'd hole up here at your boyfriends house." Natsu looked at her with a straight face.

"Mom knew about me and Romeo this whole time?" Wendy said feebly.

"No, I just made that up. The only reason I knew is because Lucy told me about him; I've known since she's known." Lucy kept no secrets from him.

"She told you about me and him?" Wendy made a mental note to get back at Lucy, Natsu shook his head.

"Are you guys okay?" Wendy hoped.

"Yeah, me and Lucy are gonna go home after we go to Uncle Atlas and eat." Natsu walked over to Wendy.

"Wendy, I want you to know I'm sorry. I know how much you love Lucy and what I did was unforgivable and I will remember what happened everyday of my life. I gotta apologize to you for having seen a side of me that I don't show people." Natsu pulled Wendy into hug. She wrapped her arms around him.

"As long as Lucy is okay, you're forgiven." Wendy couldn't stay angry at her brother no matter what he did.

"Well, she forgave me so I say we can call it evened out." He laughed, letting her go.

"That's good. If she left, I would've drop kicked you into tomorrow." Wendy laughed.

"Don't worry, we're okay. I'll leave you to your boyfriend, don't do anything I wouldn't." Natsu walked back inside. Romeo appeared as he left.

"What exactly wouldn't your brother do? He's a bit of a rebel." Romeo laughed.

"Well, he said not do anything he wouldn't so that means we could do the things that he would do." Wendy winked at her boyfriend.

"I'll go grab the truck then." Romeo pulled his girlfriend with him.

"Did everything go okay?" Lucy sat in the passenger seat.

"Yeah, she and her boyfriend were making out when I got there so it was awkward for her." Natsu smiled as the engine turned over.

"Good, then she's okay and we can go get food." Lucy pumped her fist in the air as Natsu laughed at her.

"Do you have everything in place?" Grandine shouted across the hall into the kitchen.

"Yes; I called our usual caterer's, they're okay with the short notice. The decorator is available to do the backyard and I called all of Lucy's closest friends. The wedding for one hundred is a-go." Grandine and Igneel high-fived.

"Alright, let's go to bed." Grandine pulled on Igneel.

"It's only four." Igneel noted.

"Yes but the house is empty and we're home alone." Grandine winked at him. Igneel got what she meant and pulled off his coat and carried her upstairs. She giggled as they made their way to their room.
