Natsu watched Lucy writing down information on pieces of paper and then crumpling them up before picking them up again, trying to smooth out the wrinkles that she had created out of frustration. She looked so peaceful writing down notes and then passing them over to him to get feedback. He liked all the things she wrote and had hardly ever given much feedback on it, the few times he did, she took it into careful consideration and made whatever she wrote even better. He understood why the company liked her so much, why his father raved about his favourite children's author being the best at what she does.


He kept thinking about what Lucy had told him the day before about her mother and realized that he hadn't seen his own mother in the time he had been in Veronica. When he had gotten back, she was on a retreat with her twin sister, Porlyusica, who was a medical doctor who had patented a couple medical aids and his very uptight aunt but he still loved her dearly and she loved him even though she said he was a bit of a hothead sometimes. She should be home by the time he got home. He was glad that he would be able to her again after being away so long. He was also glad that nobody knew he was the new CEO of the company. It had been kept under wraps not even the board of the company knew about it. Erza knew but he didn't mind she wouldn't breathe a word to anyone.


"Natsu, Natsu, Natsu....." Lucy was waving her hand in front of his face but he could care less, only focused on the fact that she leaning over her desk with the cleavage bearing blouse she wore to work.

He had hoped she wore it for him but she probably wore because the company had a 'NO UNIFORMS ALLOWED' policy and it was casual enough for a Friday. He grabbed her hand and intertwined his fingers between hers and smiled a very mischievous smile.

He pulled her closer and gave a quick peck on the lips, "yes, you rang."

She couldn't help but blush, trying to pull her hand away however liking the way his hand was so big and warm, kind of like his smile when it was genuine. She put out her tongue at him like a 5 year old that had been denied cookies before dinner.

"Be careful that I don't take that tongue yours and make it mine." Natsu dared.

She had no doubt that he would do that, she smiled at his comment thinking of playing along, "maybe I'll make you try, baby." He couldn't help but laugh and thought that would the greatest thing he could ever give her for now.

"What time is it?" Looking down at her watch, Lucy gasped. "Shit, is it that late? Everyone is packing up to go as well. We should head out before they lock us in." He wouldn't mind.

He watched as she put all her papers, writing materials and laptop into her bag. He picked up his stuff and walked out before her wondering what she would be doing on a Friday. He ran up to the chairman's office to up the address for Lucy's home, thinking that he should accidently be in the neighborhood. Lucy stopped into the usual flower shop she liked owned by Droy, an old college friend of Levy.

"The usual flowers Lucy?" She smiled.

"Yes, am I that predictable?" Droy laughed, "kinda but you said that today is your mom's birthday right. Funny that her birthday is a week after yours, isn't it?"

That's right, she had told Droy that today was her mother's birthday and that he should save a bouquet of lilacs for her on this day. He remembered, now she understood why Levy always called him her best friend aside from Jet another college buddy she had. She pulled out her wallet, before she could leave the money for him; he waved her off saying that it was a birthday gift for her and her mother, she was grateful to him and gave a kiss on the cheek before walking out.
