~Flashback Mode~
It had been a two weeks since Weisslogia left and Grandine was no longer feeling the sting of the heartbreak that he had caused. Her job was going perfectly and was looking at a promotion for all her hard work. She felt happy and secure knowing that she had been getting closer to Natsu and Igneel, especially Igneel.
She woke up, remembering she didn't have work and decided to sleep in, feeling more tired than usual. She got up for a glass of water, walking past the calendar and noticing a red circle on Monday. She looked at the calendar remembering that Monday that had passed was the day she was suppose have her period. She was a week late but she didn't let it disturb her, it had happened once before and it wasn't a big deal.
She shrugged it off and decided that she would wait for the next month. She walked upstairs knowing that sleep would not be achievable. She walked into the bathroom to take a shower and go over the her favorite neighbors.
"Igneel! Natsu! I come bearing gifts of cookies!" Grandine shouted into an empty house. She walked in but had never been farther than the doorway. She looked around, inspecting the living room noticing the pictures of Natsu and Igneel splayed across the walls. They were a sweet pair, she couldn't deny it, she had fallen in love with the both of them.
She walked through a corridor with paintings that looked very old. Inspecting closely noticing that they were classics by Monet, expensive no doubt. She heard a noise in the kitchen and continued to walk to the kitchen only to be greeted by a messy space. She watched Igneel and Natsu try to concoct macaroni and cheese but leaving a trail cheese around the stove and in the sink.
"What are you doing?" Grandine put her hands on her hips.
"Nothing." Natsu said in a sing-song voice.
"We were trying to cook but as you can see it has failed royally and completely." Igneel getting up to grab a bowl of the cheesy mixture for Grandine.
"Come on, you have to sit and have a plate with us." Igneel gestured to the seat next to him. Grandine placed the cookies on the kitchen counter and stepped further into the kitchen. Inhaling the strong scent of cheese made her nauseous. She had always loved macaroni and cheese but she couldn't handle the scent right now. It was giving her stomach ache; she sat down beside Igneel, her stomach settling as she took a seat. She dove down into the food, enjoying the taste of the cheese.
She finished her food, got up and started cleaning off the table. The kitchen was a disaster, Igneel tried his best to convince her that she didn't have to clean but failed and was scolded by Grandine and was told not to come in the kitchen until she was done. Natsu laughed at their display of childishness, occasionally sneaking a cookie when they weren't looking.
"Grandine, are you and my daddy going to get married?" Natsu said in an innocent voice, carefully examining the cookie.
"No honey, what makes you say that?" Grandine blushing slightly but would never admit out loud that she had fallen for Igneel Dragneel.
"Because you and daddy fight like my grandma and grandpa. Daddy says their old and that their in love so they fight that all the time." Natsu smiled, taking a bite of the cookie.
"Just because daddy and I fight like an old married couple doesn't mean we're old or getting married." Grandine explained as Natsu walked to the refrigerator.
"I think you and daddy would be good for each other. You can cook and daddy would work; you make me a sister too, right daddy?" Grandine turned to see a smiling Igneel leaning in the doorway.
"Natsu, what are doing? Are you trying to fill my head with ideas little boy?" He shook Natsu making him laugh with glee.
"You really know how to clean a kitchen." Igneel walked over to Grandine brushed a hair strand out of her face. She blushed as his masculine fingers touched her face. Natsu rushed out of the kitchen with the plate of cookies. Grandine turned to grab him but was stopped by Igneel whom was holding her by her waist.
"He won't get far, he's just got a sweet tooth." Igneel pulled Grandine's face closer to his, gently placing his lips over hers, slowly kissing her. He pulled her closer to him, feeling the contours of her body as they fit perfectly into his. When it was over, he slowly pulled away hoping to pull her back in.
"Wow, you are a really good kisser Mr. Dragneel." Grandine smiled, opening her eyes.
"Would it be okay if I did again one of these days?" Igneel politely asked. Grandine shook her head pulling his lips down to hers again.
~Time Skip~
Igneel kissed Grandine's shoulder, making her flinch at the touch. She turned around and hugged Igneel, thinking to herself that it was a good idea to wear her strapless top. She pulled herself up to get kiss him but was shrugged off in her attempt.
"I won't kiss you until I know why you are so worried." Igneel had been watching her while she was cooking in the kitchen; her face had been serious the entire time, not like her always smiling self.
"I'm pregnant." Grandine continued cutting up vegetables to put into the soup. Igneel walked over to her and looked her straight in the eyes, with the serious look now on his face.
"Marry me." Grandine knew that was a statement and not a question.
"Marry you? Like with a ring, marriage certificate and pretty dress?" Grandine stumbled across her words as she slowly began tearing up.
"Yes, like that." Igneel took her hands and kissed them, smiling like an idiot.
"Why?" Grandine squeezed his hands in return, waiting for him to answer.
"Because I fell in love with a girl that loves beer and fried chicken." Igneel pulled out a ring with a huge diamond. He got down on one knee, hoping to do it the proper way.
"Grandine Marvel, will you marry me and be missus Igneel Dragneel?" Igneel looked up at her with a twinkle in his eyes. Grandine never thought that she would get married out of the blues like that. She imagined that she would be marrying Weisslogia; she imagined being pregnant for him and raising his kids and spoiling them with him by her side.
It all changed when she met Igneel and saw a light at the end of different tunnel. He was everything that she wanted in a man; he was warm, kind, compassionate and most of all considerate. She began imagining everything that she had wanted but Igneel by her side. He looked so much better than anyone could look. She fell. Hard. However, she didn't look back and took the plunge.
"Yes." Grandine began crying tears of joy, knowing that this was the craziest thing that she had ever done. She had only known Igneel for month and she was already saying to a marriage proposal. It felt like her world was being turned upside down but it was the best feeling imaginable. She would change her last name and be the wife of Igneel Dragneel; she was happy and secure in Igneel's arms, know she would be able to stay in them forever.
