Leslie felt her mouth go dry as she continued to stand as stiff as a statue a few feet away from the closed door.
It can't be Sage or Mycah, right?, she began to internally question herself. They're usually not up yet.
Leslie continued to stay still in the exact same spot, unsure of what to do.
There was yet another knock on the door.
Crap, she thought. I'm gonna have to answer that, aren't I?
Leslie turned around, gazing at Tomi. "Tomi… Go to your room," she whispered.
Tomi looked like he wanted to protest but he did as he was told.
Leslie looked back at the door once more as another knock rang out from the outside of the door.
Here goes nothing, Leslie thought to herself as she took a deep breath and cautiously stalked over to the door. She let her fingers rest on the doorknob. This is gonna end badly. She gripped the doorknob and turned it, letting the door open up.
Leslie was shocked to see a little boy standing on the other side of the door.
He looked like he was about eight-years-old. He had a bloody gash on his forehead and his right arm looked visibly broken. "Thank goodness!"
"Uh…." Leslie began, having a confused look on her face. "Can I help you?"
The boy nodded. "Yeah. Um… Where are we? If you don't mind me asking…"
How does he not know where we are? "Um… The Haynes Academy? In the former kingdom of Iojetria?"
"I…" He began to respond. "I'm gonna be honest with you, I have no idea where that is."
"Italy," Leslie added on. "You're heard of Italy, right?" She raised an eyebrow.
The young boy nodded, looking a little shocked by Leslie's answer. "Yeah… I have."
Leslie wetted her lips before she asked her own question. "Where are you from?"
"Clervaux," the boy answered.
"In Luxembourg?" Leslie queried.
He nodded. "Yeah."
"Luxembourg…" Leslie looked away from the boy, toward the ground. "Okay… That's not too far actually…" She looked back at the boy and let her gaze linger on his forehead gash that was currently oozing blood. I… I should treat that. She beckoned the boy in.
He hesitated.
"You're okay, kid," she tried to reassure him. "I'm not gonna hurt you."
"Okay." The boy entered the dorm room as Leslie closed the door behind him. He still seemed a little nervous.
Poor kid looks really shaken up, Leslie commented to herself. "Hey, um… You mind if I ask your name?"
The boy remained silent for quite some time before he responded to Leslie. "It's Nicolas Lieux."
"Nicolas Lieux," Leslie repeated. "So, you're from the French part of Luxembourg, huh?" She exhaled. "I'm… Eliesavetta."
Leslie hadn't been Eliesavetta for a very long time. After succumbing to the demon, she strictly went by her nickname—-regardless, for some unknown reason, she decided to introduce herself with her birth name.
