Kara continued to move across the cold ice rink, her the blades of her ice skates cut through the ice rhythmically.

Kara continued to grab a hold of Greyson's tiny little hands as she faced towards him, kneeling down as they skated a little.

“You're doing so good, bud,” Kara said, proudly to Greyson as she continued to smile softly at the little boy.

     Greyson giggled.

“So, you like this sport, huh?” Kara asked still smiling softly.

Greyson giggled louder as he nodded.

“Well,” Kara began to say to the little boy. “That's… that's awesome… I love it a lot… Your äiti loves it too, Grey.”

Greyson happily bounced on the ice.

“Careful.” She gently giggled. “We don't want you to slip and hurt yourself, bud.” Kara then moved to the side, still bend down. She let go of one of Greyson's hands, still holding onto his left hand. “Let's skate…” She exhaled. “Don't worry… I won't let you fall. I promise.”

Kara started slowly moving forward, her skates carving through the ice as she continued to hold onto Greyson's hand, guiding him.

Greyson continued to giggle with joy.

“Ready to speed up a bit?” Kara asked Greyson.

Greyson nodded as his response to his mother.

Kara tightened her grip on the little boy's hand, careful not to hurt him. She quickened her pace on the ice and so did Greyson.

They began to go in circles on the ice as Dylan fell into sync with them.

Dylan looked over at the absolute giddy look on Greyson's little face. He laughed, sounding a little amused. “Aww. Looks like someone likes figure skating.”

      Greyson giggled again.

Dylan laughed again before saying, “Someone's taking after his mother.”

Kara felt her heart swell at that comment. He really is taking after me, huh?, she thought to herself before smiling softly once again. “Come on… Let's go for a few more laps.”

After hours, Kara carried Greyson off the ice as Dylan headed off the rink.

Kara set Greyson down before both she and Dylan sit down on the bench beside the little boy.

Kara began to dry off the blades on her skates so they wouldn't rust—-Dylan did the same.

Then Kara and Dylan put their guards on.

Dylan changed back into his shoes.

Kara untied her laces before taking the skates off and slipping her tennis shoes on. She got off the bench before kneeling in front of Greyson, drying off his blades before untying them and taking them off.

“I'll take them back to storage for you,” Dylan said.

Kara held out the skates to Dylan and he took them heading off in the direction of the storage room.

Kara picked up Greyson's tiny shoes before sliding them on him. She fixed the velcro.

Kara opened up her duffle bag again, putting her skates into the bag. She looked at Greyson again before pulling out his blanket and tiger plush once more. “We need to invest in getting you your own skates at some point, don't we, bud?”

Greyson nodded, bouncing and kicking his legs back and forth once more.

“I'll keep that at mind.” Kara handed the blanket and stuffed animal back to Greyson, which the little boy gratefully took.

“Friend,” Greyson said, softly as he cradled the plush tiger against his cheek.

Kara raised an eyebrow at the little boy, a little bit amused. She smiled softly. “That's your friend?”

     Greyson nodded. He repeated, “Friend.”

Kara's expressed softened even more than she thought was possible. Kara felt her ‘ice cold' demon heart melt more. She leaned towards to stroke Greyson's hair. “That's great, bud.”

Dylan approached them once more. He laughed when he saw the loving look on Kara's face and her relaxed demeanor. He took his glasses off to clean them. “Someone's cold heart unthawed.” He put his glasses on once more.

Kara stood up once more and playfully swatted at Dylan's arm. “Oh, shush!”

“You know it's true, Kara,” Dylan responded. He wetted his lips. “Ever since you met Greyson, you've been different… You've been happier… Dare I say more at peace with the world.”

“Maybe I just wanted someone like him,” Kara replied, shrugging a bit.

Dylan raised an eyebrow at his friend's response. “'Someone like him'? Kara… Are you meaning to tell me that you wanted a child?”

Kara exhaled. “Yeah.” She swallowed. “I guess I did.”

“Why?” Dylan shifted his weight onto his other leg.

“I don't know,” Kara began to answer. “I guess I saw Bethany with Gaël and thought that I… deserved something like that too…” Her voice trailed off toward the end.

“Well, you're right… You do deserve to have what you want,” Dylan told his friend softly. “You want more than one kid?”

Kara nodded, looking down to the ground. “Yeah… I think so.”

There was a silence after Kara's response that seemed to echo violently through the rink.

Dylan sucked in a breath. “Well, um… Speaking of your sister…” He scratched the bridge of his nose. “...maybe we could uh… try giving her a call again… See if she knows anything about the whole Nicolas situation.”

Kara nodded. “Yeah. Good idea.” She reached into her pocket, grabbing her phone and pulling it out, unlocking it. She dialed Bethany's number before putting it up to her ear, the phone ringing.

Come on, Bethany, Kara thought to herself.

“Kara?” Bethany's voice sounded from the other end of the call.

“Bethany… hey,” Kara responded, turning away from Greyson and Dylan.

“Kara… Are you okay?” Bethany asked the younger twin. “You sound nervous. Did something happen?”

“Yeah um… Something did,” Kara said, sighing. “Did you notice anything about Nicolas before you left for Caesar Falls? Even in the week up to you leaving…”

“Like what?” Bethany sounded a little confused.

“Like um…” Kara wetted her lips as she ran a hand through her pink hair. “...just anything weird… Out of the blue.”

“Well,” Bethany began to respond to her sister. “Now that you mention it, yeah.”

     Kara froze a little. “What?”

“He… He levitated his stuffed animal a few days ago… On accident,” Bethany explained. “Kara… Nico's a witch.”
