The road trip would take over twenty hours—-Leslie was well aware of that, but it didn't keep her from feeling like she needed to stretch her legs every now and then.

Sage drove while Mycah resided in the passenger seat.

Leslie sat in the back with Tomi—-Leslie was a little uneasy about the fact they didn't have a car seat for Tomi whatsoever.

Leslie had to jump through so many hoops just to adjust the seatbelt in a way that wouldn't hurt Tomi and would properly protect him.

Tomi was sitting in his spot right next to Leslie, kicking his little legs back and forth while playing with his teddy bear Leslie had packed.

Despite trying to keep Tomi hidden from the outside world, Leslie tried to get the boy as many toys as she could—-she wanted her little boy to be happy; after all, Leslie loved the sound of his laughter.

Tomi gently hummed to himself as he continued to kick his legs back and forth, his arms positioned underneath the arms of the teddy bear, making it sway around.

Leslie smiled softly at the happy little expression on her three-year-old son's face. She reached her hand out to gently stroke Tomi's hair.

A song started to echo on the radio and Leslie stiffened once she recognized it.

“Nice place you've got here, Eliesavetta,” Ignat's voice echoed as he walked around the room Leslie had been residing in—-a song playing from a radio one of her roommates had set up before.

The tune of the piano keys echoed.

The young witch sighed. “It's not mine technically. It's a shared room. I mean… look at the bunks.” Don't fall victim…, she told herself.

“Huh…” Ignat began to respond. “What a shame. I bet you'd like to have a place all to yourself… Huh?”

“Kinda…” Leslie responded, looking down to the ground. “But… I'm used to it. That's just how it is here at the Academy.” She inhaled. “After this though, I'll be able to get a room to myself… Or with a friend.”

     Ignat raised an eyebrow. “After?”

The young woman nodded. “Yeah. After. After I resist you.”

Ignat laughed at that. “Oh, Eliesavetta… As if you'd really be able to resist me.” He made his way closer to her. He slid his hand underneath her chin, tilting her head upward while brushing his thumb across her lip. “Tell me… What is it that you want? Truly want…? I know there's something. There has to be.”

Leslie tried to calm herself and will herself not to panic—-what didn't help her was that she could feel her heart rate increasing with every breath she took. “Uh…”

“Money? Fame? Power?” Ignat began to list off. “Come on. There's got to be something.” His gaze locked onto hers. “Family, is it? You want that….”

“Yes… Family,” Leslie said. “I want to see my family… I want to be with my family…”

“Family…” Ignat repeated. “I could give that you know.”

Leslie's red eyes lit up. “You could?” Could he really reunite me with my father and brother? Oh, I'd love that!, she thought to herself.

“Mhm,” he said, nodding. “All you have to do is agree.”

She caved. “Okay.” I can't wait to see my baby brother again!, she thought.

Ignat smirked. “Pleasure doing business with you.” He pushed her backward onto one of the beds, practically falling on top of her.

“W-What are you doing?” Leslie then asked.

“What you wanted…” Ignat replied. He leaned down and placed a kiss on the side of her neck.

Leslie pushed him back. “No. I don't agree to whatever the hell this is.”

“You can't go back on our deal, Eliesavetta,” Ignat said. “The contract is set in stone.”

     “No. I don't want this…” She said.

“Too bad.” Ignat went for her throat again, but this time, bitting it and releasing a venom into her veins, temporarily paralyzing her.

Leslie desperately tried to move, but she couldn't. No, no, no!, she thought, panicking. She so desperately wanted to scream for help, but she couldn't seem to do it.

“You still want to say no, right?” Ignat asked. “Hm? Do you want to do it now?” The sick fuck slipped his hand underneath Leslie's chin again, moving her lips with his thumb. He attempted a high pitch voice. “Yes! I do!”

Ignat then laughed. “Well, if you say so.” He gripped onto the edge of Leslie's shirt and pulled it up. He gazed down at her uncovered abdomen before gently rubbing it. “Oh… This is going to be so much fun.”

Leslie didn't even realize that she was crying as the song played until Mycah asked, “Are you okay?”

Leslie wiped away the tears from her face, sniffling. “I'm okay.”

“It's the song, isn't it?” Mycah began. “I'll kill the music.” He turned the radio off. “Were you thinking about him again?”

Leslie nodded. “Yeah. I fucked up big time.”

“Les, it's not your fault,” Mycah responded as he continued to look back at her from his place in the passenger seat. “It's that sick fuck to blame.”

Sage nodded as they continued to drive. “Mycah's right. You didn't do anything wrong.”

“But, I agreed to the deal…” Leslie replied, sniffling.

“Yeah, but,” Mycah responded. “He fucking lied to you. He tricked you. You were under the impression he'd let you see your dad and brother again.”

“It's what demons do, Les,” Sage added on. “...lie and manipulate.”

Leslie looked down to the ground, sighing and trying to push the thoughts of the past out of her mind. Take a deep breath, her mind told herself, trying to calm her down. Don't think about it… Don't think about the past. Think about what this Kara girl might be like. …Maybe if you're lucky, she'll have a kid too who could play with Tomi when you're not around.

She looked over to Tomi and noted the sad expression on his face. “You think you guys can pull over in the next town?”

     “Why?” Sage asked.

Leslie responded, “Because I have a sad little boy over here who I promised ice cream earlier.”

Mycah grinned and looked at Sage.

Sage laughed a little. “Alright. Ice cream it is.”
