(Trigger warning for transphobia.)
----------

When Kara, Dylan, and Greyson got back to Clervaux from their trip to France, Kara couldn't get Pierre's words out of her head.

So whoever this Iris Haynes bitch is… she took Nico, Kara began to think to herself. And Nico could very well be in danger. She bit her lip. I won't let anything happen to him. I won't let anyone hurt him. I can't. I mean… I'm Nico's big sister. Isn't that what I'm supposed to do? Isn't that my job? My purpose?

Dylan eyed his friend. “Kara, are you sure about this?”

Kara, Dylan, and Greyson and gone back to the ice rink as per request of Kara.

“We were just here earlier you know,” Dylan said as he sat on the bench near Greyson, who was playing with his tiger plush.

Kara continued to tie the laces on her skates. “I need to… I need to clear my head.”

Dylan commented, “You've been needing to do that a lot, Kara… Your house burning down… Nicolas getting kidnapped and being in danger… After speaking to Aubrie.” Dylan inhaled. “Kara… Do you need to talk?”

Kara finished tying for first skate before moving onto the second one. “No. I'm good.”

Dylan exhaled as he slumped forward, interlocking his fingers with one another. He bounced his leg up and down. “Kara?” He began. “Can I be honest with you?”

Kara sighed. “If I tell you no, you're still gonna say whatever it is anyway.”

Dylan looked down at the ground, inhaling. “Kara… I think you should see a therapist.”

“What?” Kara seemed a bit shocked at her friend's sudden confession.

“Kara,” Dylan began to say. “I'm concerned about you… Lately… You've been dark… I just…” He wetted his lips. “...want you to be okay.”

Kara stood up from her spot on the bench, quickly. “I'm fine.” Her tone was a little cold.

Dylan eyed Kara with a concerned expression mantled upon his face. His tone was nervous. “You don't sound fine.”

“Just…” Kara began to respond. “Let me have a moment.” She looked over to Greyson. “Äiti will be back soon. I promise.” She took off her guards, setting them aside and headed onto the ice.

A few moments had passed before Mycah, Sage, Leslie, and Tomi entered the rink.

“This is supposedly the place they hang out at,” Sage said to their companions.

“Speak of the devil,” Mycah replied as he gestured to Kara on the ice. “Come on. We should take a seat.” Mycah headed over to the bleacher area—-Sage followed closely behind him.

Leslie looked around the rink before sighing and taking Tomi's hand, leading him to the bleachers where they sat down beside Sage and Mycah.

Leslie draped an arm over Tomi's shoulder as she watched Kara move across the ice. She's… magnificent, she thought to herself.

Mycah laughed a little. “Enjoying the show?” He teased her.

She moves across the ice so intricately… If I tried to do that, I bet I'd slip and split my head wide open—-blood engulfing the ice. “Shut up,” Leslie told Mycah, not once taking her red eyes off Kara's skating form.

Kara twirled about the ice, struggling to fight the emotions that rose up deep within her—-just raising to the boiling point and threatening to drown her. What does Dylan know anyway? I don't need to talk. And I sure as hell don't need help, she thought to herself jumping into a triple lutz.

Leslie continued to stare in awe at Kara's skill. Oh gods… She's amazing… She's a… goddess on that ice. I swear.

“Kylls… Babe…” Aubrie's voice echoed out from the bathroom.

Kara raised her head. “Uh… Yeah?” She had gone back into the closet since being out and unapologetic of herself had damaged her chances in getting girls to like her. Girls really don't seem to like trans women, huh?, Kara thought to herself. She let her amber gaze cruise over to the bathroom door. Kara had been trying to forget about Aubrie's unwanted advances on her from a few weeks ago.

“I think I'm sick,” Aubrie responded from the other side of the closed bathroom door.

“Sick?” Kara repeated. “H-How?” She got up, making her way over to the closed bathroom door and leaned against the wall. “How are you sick?” She wetted her lips. “Like… What symptoms do you have? You think it's the flu?”

On the other side of the bathroom door, Aubrie slumped over, groaning—-she rubbed her stomach. She continued to look downwards and whispered, “Oh god, I fucking hate you. I hope you know that, kid.”

“Aubrie?” Kara called as she lightly tapped the knuckle of her finger against the door to knock. “Can I come in?”

Aubrie's eyes quickly darted over to the positive pregnancy test on the counter near the sink. She snatched it up before hiding it under the cabinet. “Yeah… Go ahead.”

Kara gripped the doorknob before twisting it and heading in. “You threw up?”

Aubrie nodded, standing—-her hand still resting on her stomach.

Kara didn't think much about Aubrie's hand's positioning. “You have the flu, don't you?”

Aubrie sighed as she lied, “Yeah… The flu… and it's kicking my ass right now.”

Kara frowned a little. “I'm sorry.”

“Actually… While I have you here,” Aubrie began to say. “I have something I want to talk to you about.”

Kara cocked her head to the side slightly. “Huh?”

“You lied to me… You hid things from me,” Aubrie said. “You're hiding things from me right now. You can't just fucking do that. We're engaged, Kyllian.” Aubrie's voice grew more sour. “Or should I say Kara?”

    Kara froze at that. “W-What?”

“That's right… I know your dirty little secret,” Aubrie said as she exited the bathroom. “You're mentally ill… You're so fucking convinced you're a fucking girl for some reason.”

“Aubrie-” Kara tried to say before she was cut off.

Aubrie snapped as she looked angrily at Kara. “Zip it. I don't want to fucking hear it.” She sighed. “I don't think I know you anymore…” Her gaze traveled down to her hand, her eyes locked on her engagement ring. Aubrie snarled. “You know what, Kara… We're fucking done.” She pulled the ring off before chucking it straight at Kara's eye. “And take your shitty little engagement ring too.”

With that, Aubrie stormed out of the room and Kara held back tears.

“Take your shitty little engagement ring too,” Aubrie's voice seemed to echo in Kara's mind as the anger only seemed to build up in her more and more with each passing moment.

Kara bit her lip as she felt the rage flowing through her and erasing the world around her. She aggressively jumped, attempting a quad axel, but hit her head right against the edge of the rink.
