TWO WEEKS LATER!I believe in "doing what you love and loving what you do," but to get up five am ...five days a week. When i am not a morning person by any means hurts my heart.
I always love helping others growing up. So I decided I wanted to be a Registered Nurse. So I went ahead and got my undergraduate degree in the nursing field at the University of the west Indies.
After completing the four year BScN programme and being eligible to apply to sit the Regional Examination for Nurse Registration (RENR). I was set...I got my Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) the following year. Being able to practice nursing in Jamaica and other CARICOM Countries.
Now having a bachelor's degree in nursing, in future I'll work toward becoming on Advanced degree nurse...because then I would have a graduate degree in the field.
Am thinking my master's degree next, cause a master's degree provides nursing graduates with more specialized skills and training. Allow me to work in a variety of areas within the nursing field and advance my career. Providing me with better compensation benefits, various working hours and conditions, specialization opportunities, increased long-term earning potential, flexibility, teaching opportunities and so much more.
Then maybe work toward becoming a medical student ...Doctor Garcia doesn't sounds mad.
But being an RN comes with a broad range of responsibilities like administering medication, contributing to a patient's plan of care and collaborating with medical doctors. Hence, why I applied to work at Mitchell Chadwick Medical Center. I like collaborating with doctors and Doctor Chadwick makes it easy to work with.
I Intern at University Hospital Of The West Indies for six months. And worked at Andrews Memorial Hospital for two and a half years.
Amelia Grange besties since Uwi days works at Mitchell Chadwick Medical Center a private doctors facility in New Kingston. Introduce me to Doctor Chadwick and two years later am still there.
Rolling out of bed like the zombie I am in the mornings i start my routine.
I sometimes workout in the mornings base on my mood, but not today so after work it is. I sigh up from a gym membership at a fancy gym in New Kingston since it's close to work. Only use it once in a blue moon... think I can cancel it.
Youtube videos in my living room works just find with my uncle's old weights.Pete Armstrong "Uncle Pete" mommy brother, he buys a two story house in Norbrook. But since he resides in New York he need someone to stay here and that's where I came in.
I board on campus for university at Mona. Share apartment with someone in Liguanea didn't work out.
So I decide it wasn't a bad idea until i buy something of my own which is the goal. Plus he's a once in a blue moon guy too. And when he does visit it's like he's not here cause man a tourist.
Wash my face, brush my teeth, strengthen up, cook me some eggs with bread and coffee, take a quick bath, do my skin care, makeup and hair and put on my burgundy scrubs uniform.
Check if I have everything: Water Bottle, coffee mug, nursing pocket, Id, stethoscope- (don't really wear around my neck, cause it's taught that a patient can use it to assault you. Got in the habit of putting it in my side pants pocket...since I started out in hospitals) and vocera badge. Grab my jacket, a chopsticks and slip some white sock on with my white New Balance sneakers.
And off to work I go.
Early as usual I clock in and head over to the nurse station. Disinfect my work area, put on my scrub cap and ear saver strap for face masks, cause a girl got alot of piercing and I like prevent irritation,
I check my assignments for the day. Going through the charting system. Hit up the medication room and gather supply needed. Ensure meds stocks and ready for the day events and get room perpared.
My First patient isn't due until the next forty five minutes.
So I dail Zidane ...
