Danika's POV:
"We really doing this again?" I scoff as Rowan takes the blindfold off to show me a familiar sight, the hole.

"You replaced me with Jake Ballard! JAKE BALLARD!" He shouts and I shrug.

"It could've been worse, I could've put the new girl in charge." I scoff and get punched in the stomach.

"I thought you'd be proud, you know, standing up to you and all." I cough and am backhanded in the face, blood filling my mouth.

"Beating her won't work." I hear a deep British voice as I spit some blood out onto the floor.

"I don't remember asking you." Rowan scoffs and steps away from me, revealing the ginger from before.

I'm forced on my knees and I just give the men a bloody sneer.

"Well, maybe you should've." Pearce states as he looks down at me as if he's studying me.

"This has nothing to do with you." Rowan growls as Pearce takes another step forward towards his men and for some reason I can't seem to take my eyes off of him.

I try to enter his mind but can't.

"On the contrary. I think I'm exactly what you need." Pearce calmly counters as he squats down to my eye level.

Before I can even attempt to bite his nose off, he grabs me by the neck and has a very dangerous look in his eyes.

"Stand up." He orders and lifts me off the ground as if I had a choice.

Instead of letting me go, he holds me still, firm in his grip. I try to pry his arms off but it's like trying to pry a ball from a statue. He simply stares into my eyes and I see that it's an invitation to try and be smart with him. He spins me around and grabs my wrists and pins them behind my back, while still holding me by my neck.

"See, you just need to speak the beast's language." He says calmly and I try to twist my head so I can glare up at him.

"I don't know who you are, but you better get your fucking hands off of my body before I remove them from yours." I say in a dangerous tone and his grip vanishes to my surprise.

He quickly spins me around again and looks into my eyes with furrowed brows. It catches me so off guard that I don't know how to respond.

"Has she had any head trauma?" Pearce asks Rowan as if I'm not even there.

"What?" Rowan asks, confused by the change in conversation.

"Head trauma, has she hit her head? Had any head injuries?" Pearce asks again and holds my face still with his hand on my chin as he looks into my eyes.
