I planned the funeral for Denny and attended with Suzanne by my side. She sat with me and ushered me away when too many people wanted to ask questions or make comments.
"Thanks for this by the way. The hotel was getting stuffy." I said as we walked into her house.
"No problem. In all honesty this is safer too. I have a top of line security system." Suzanne said as we sat in the living room. She poured herself a drink and then looked at me.
"Club soda?" She asked knowing I couldn't drink, and I nodded. She poured me a drink and brought it over while she stood pacing. "Can I ask you a question?" Suzanne asked.
"Go ahead." I said.
"So, you're really with Lloyd now and pregnant with his kid...?" She asked. I sighed.
"I'm pregnant with his kid, yes. As far as together...no we aren't together." I said and Suzanne just looked at me oddly.
"So, what are you planning on doing? Are you going back to his place?" Suzanne asked and I shrugged.
"I have nowhere else to go."
"You could get your own place. I mean if you still want to be near him, I know a few places in Croatia that are available." Suzanne said and I looked at her.
"I mean I guess I should be near him in case he has a change of heart." I said and Suzanne snorted a laugh which I didn't even get mad at.
"Well how about we look for some places for you." Suzanne said and went to get her laptop. As she sat down and was fidgeting.
"What's wrong?" Suzanne asked and I sighed.
"I want to ask you something, but I don't want you to feel obligated..."
"What?" Suzanne asked.
"We used to be friends in college and then everything went to shit You got to lead the life I wanted. Well, I mean I was wondering if when I move into the new place, if you would want to move in with me...?" I asked and Suzanne sighed but gave a small nod.
"I think it's a good idea. I don't want the pregnant lady on her own." Suzanne said and I gave a small chuckle.
"Thanks Suzanne." I said and she smiled as we started looking.

We quickly found a place and with me paying cash on it we were ready to move in within a week. We found a 4-bedroom house that had a pool and beautiful views. Suzanne was finalizing everything as I took Felix and went to Lloyd's place. I walked in without my luggage leaving it at the new place.
"Where is he?" I asked as I walked into the castle and looked at a guard.
"He is in bed."
I grumbled and walked upstairs to the bedroom and just walked in. I will admit I was scared about what I was going to find but what I saw I never could have imagined.
Lloyd was fast asleep in bed with Assassin who was sleeping on my side of the bed stretched out. I sighed and shook my head.
"Lloyd." I firmly stated standing at the foot of the bed. He jolted awake pointing a gun at me as he did. Must have been under his pillow. I just crossed my arms.
"Mavis...you're back." He said and I nodded.
"Not for long. I'm moving out and I just wanted to let you know." I said and he just looked at me in shock.
"I'm sorry, you're what?!" Lloyd snapped as I got in the closet and started packing up my clothes into a box that was there in the room.
"I'm moving out. Suzanne and I found a place here in Croatia and I decided since you don't want me or this baby that I would just move out and do it on my own." I said. Lloyd grabbed my arm and pulled me around to be flush against him and made me look at him.
"Like hell you are!" he growled.
"You aren't going to stop me, Lloyd. I want to do this on my own. I want to have this baby and raise it in an environment that isn't toxic, that isn't around killing that isn't around you. Now I will never keep you from seeing your child if you ever change your mind but please do not for one second think you and I will ever be reconnecting and being together. I have been hurt too much." I said.
Lloyd didn't let me go.
"Let's get on thing clear here cupcake, you and I are clearly done and have nothing in common anymore so me wanting you will be something you don't have to worry about. As far as that kid of yours, I know it's mine and there is no denying that. I will support you and give you money if you need it, but I do not want to be involved." Lloyd said and I nodded.
"Sounds perfect. Now can I pack up my stuff in peace?" I asked and Lloyd got dressed as he left the room leaving assassin in the room with me. I sat on the floor, and he curled up in my lap. I started petting him.
"You need to stay here with dad...keep him out of trouble..." I said. The cat gave me a small meow and I sighed. "Yeah, I know, I'll miss you too." I said.

I finished packing everything up and had guards carrying my things out to the car. Lloyd was standing by the door as I went to leave.
"I guess this is it..." I trailed off.
"It is..."
Lloyd wouldn't make eye contact with me, and I sighed.
"You can fix this Lloyd, you can make this, so I don't leave..." I said in a low voice, and I knew he heard me.
He took a deep breath.
"Take care of yourself Mavis..." Lloyd said looking up at me. He then turned to walk away.
"I thought you would be different." I said. Lloyd stopped in his tracks. He turned his head to look at me.
"Excuse me?" Lloyd asked.
I had tears forming in my eyes and I knew what I was about to say was going to cause a scene and drama and I didn't care.
"I thought you would be different from Denny. You know he hit me, abused me, made me wish I was dead. I thought you would never hurt me, maybe you didn't hurt me the way he did, maybe you didn't physically hit me, but you hurt me deep Lloyd. You broke my heart which is something Denny never did." I said. Lloyd stood stunned, he couldn't believe what was just said.
I turned on my heels and walked out of Lloyd house. I got to SUV and turned to look to see Lloyd standing at the door, arms crossed. I just sighed, got in the SUV and drove away.
