6 - Shnookums

The next morning, I woke up before the sun was even up and I took a shower, put on some leggings and a tank top. I was looking through the small collection of books in my room to take hiding with me, so I had something to do. As I grabbed one from the shelf in my room the door opened, and Lloyd was standing there.

"Well here I was thinking I was going to have to wake you up." Lloyd said and I smiled at him.

"No, I'm very much aware of his flight plan and I know he will be here in an hour." I said and Lloyd smiled.

"Did you break into the system to look it up?" Lloyd asked and I smirked at him.

"I do remember some things from training. Denny hasn't beaten me bad enough to give me brain damage." I said and Lloyd sighed. He walked over to me and stood in front of me.

"You get a chance to look over the divorce papers?" Lloyd asked and I nodded.

"I did but Lloyd I need to really change some things. I want nothing from him, I just want out." I said.

"Cupcake, you didn't sign a pre-up and trust me when I say he is loaded whether he tells you he is or not. You are entitled to most of that money." Lloyd said and I groaned.

"I don't want his dirty money Lloyd, he's an ass and I just want him gone. Can you just let me rework some logistics?" I asked and Lloyd nodded. "Thanks Shnookums." I said kissing his cheek and going to leave the room.

"What the fuck was that?" Lloyd asked.

"Just trying out a nickname since you gave me one." I said.

"I don't like it." Lloyd said following me down the stairs.

"I do." I said. I looked back at him with a smirk on my face and he just shook his head. I walked into the kitchen and started to toast a bagel and got out the cream cheese.

"So where are you planning in hiding today?" Lloyd asked and I shrugged.

"I don't know, you have a dungeon or something you could lock me in?" I asked and Lloyd shook his head with a smirk. "Is that a no you don't have a dungeon or no you won't lock me in it?" I asked.

"No I won't lock you in it. Seriously, if you just stay upstairs, there is a full library upstairs and even an office. Just explore as much as you want. I will make sure Denny and Suzanne stay downstairs and don't venture upstairs." Lloyd said and I smiled.

"Thank you Lloyd. I know this could be dangerous for you." I said and he shook his head as my bagel popped up from the toaster and I put the cream cheese on it.

"No problem Mavi. Now get hiding." Lloyd said and I rushed upstairs.

**LLOYD POV**

I wasn't sure where Mavi was hiding but I didn't have time to look for her. I made myself a quick breakfast of a glass of scotch and just waited in my office. I heard the gate buzzer go off and I heard a guard talking. They were here and it was time to deal with Denny the ass and Suzanne the bitch. I walked to the front door and waited for them to walk in with the guards.

"Denny, Suzanne." I said and they both just looked at me.

"Meeting us at the door. That's uncharacteristic for you." Suzanne said and I just sighed.

"I was just ready to go this morning, you really going to bust my balls?" I asked.

"No, just wondering what whore you had to get rid of before we got here." Suzanne said. I grabbed her by her throat and held her against the wall. She was gasping for air.

"Shut the fuck up before I throw you in the dungeon and never let you out." I growled.

"Lloyd, drop her." Denny said behind me. I let her go but then looked at Denny.

"Don't tell me what to do in my own house." I said and Denny just sighed and rolled his eyes.

"Before we get this meeting going can I ask...?" Denny asked and I groaned taking him into the surveillance room.

"Guys any new information on Mavis Carmichael?" I asked.

They all knew she was there at my place, they all also knew their lives were on the line if they said anything to Denny.

"There was something in Guam, we sent a team to check it out. They should be arriving soon." The one tech said and I was so proud, like a father watching his child walk for the first time. Hell I really didn't know how that felt but I was sure something like this.

"Can we watch?" Denny asked and I sat in my chair and nodded as it was pulled up on the screens. We watched my small tactical team break down the door to the small house. A girl screamed inside but when the cameras were on her, it wasn't Mavis.

"FUCK!" Denny yelled. "She shouldn't be this fucking hard to find!" Denny said and I just shrugged.

"What do you want me to say Denny? She is smart. I mean fuck even you couldn't find her in training and she walked right past you..." I said and Denny turned to me, sneering.

"Pure luck."

"Pure brilliance. She is smart Denny, smarter than any of us. You knew this when you married her which is why I think you kept her as a housewife. You were scared this would happen. You were also scared she would get the best jobs in the field and you couldn't handle that." I said. I saw him getting angrier as I talked. Denny was about to say something when Suzanne stepped between us.

"Okay stop lets go to the office and have the meeting. I don't want to have to be here any longer than needed." Suzanne said and we walked into the office and we started our annual meeting of who was on the find and destroy list.

I had to be honest the time I was in this meeting with Denny and Suzanne I couldn't get my mind off Mavis and where she could even be hiding. This place was huge. Once the meeting was over I smiled as Denny and Suzanne left. Once the car was out of the gate and I had the all clear from the guards I rushed upstairs. I checked the library first and it was empty.

"Mavi?" I called out and got no answer. I closed the door and started walking down the hallway.

"Cupcake....?! It's clear..." I called out. I checked her room and a few other spare rooms and she was nowhere. Where could she be...

I walked down the hallway towards my bedroom. I knew she wouldn't be in there...would she? I got to my door and it was cracked. I smiled, I stopped and prayed she would be laying on my bed, ready and willing for me to take her...I knew it was too much to hope for. When I threw the door open the room was clear...I took a deep breath in. Her perfume...she was in here. I walked into the room and started looking around. I got close to the bed and noticed a note sitting right in the middle of the bed.
