Chapter 29: get you some help

Charlie's pov:

Tori is waiting on the phone for police to arrive and i'm torn on what to do. i have my panicked older sister and my younger brother in tears because of our mother. and not to sound selfish but im a little pissed that ollie would rather talk to nick. of course i love them both and i want ollie to feel safe but the hell?? I decide to wait with tori knowing cops will be here soon anyway.

After a few minutes of just talking to tori on what could've possibly happened the cops arrive at our door, so i go to answer.

Cop 1: "hello sir we heard about an unsafe home?"

Charlie: "yes my little brother is here talking about our mother"

Cop 2: "alright if we could step inside to speak with him"

Charlie: "right of course..."

I lead them inside to nick sitting beside ollie who is having a full panic attack. Nick is trying to calm him down with breathing but ollie doesn't seem to be listening.

Cop 1: "sir please back away from the kid"

Ollie: "no nick please don't leave me!!"

he bursts out into more and more tears. Nick rubs his back whispering that he isn't leaving. I decide that this whole favoriting thing is bullshit and sit on the other side of

ollie. the second i sit down he practically leaps on to me sobbing and yelling to not leave.

The cops look confused and after a while of trying to get ollie to clam down he does.

The cop says none of us can be in the room while they question him so he can be open and honest but ollie almost exploded again so i sat with him.

Cop 1: "alright oliver we just have a few questions for you ok?"

Ollie: "it's ollie but ok.."

cop 2: "right ollie, first, who are these people to you?"

Ollie: "Charlie and Tori are my siblings and Nick is charlie's fiancé"

Cop 2: "ok, and you live with mom and dad?"

Ollie: "well...kinda"

Cop 1: "what do you mean by that??

Ollie: "my parents leave for weeks on end with barely any money and food..."

Cop 2: "oh wow ok so umm what was the longest you've been alone and how old were you?"

Ollie: "a month i was about 12"

Tori: "why didn't you tell us?"

Ollie: "...mom threatened me"

Cop 1: "saying what?"

Ollie: "she'd kill me if i told someone"

Nick seems like he's trying to tune this entire conversation but still comforts ollie. Charlie and Tori are in a saddening state of shock and ollie is crying still but also talking like all of this is normal.

Cop2: "alright we are gonna have to take him to the station for more questions. We'll send another cop out to the parents and set up a custody court case."

Shit. where is ollie going to go?? Nick and I already have clover and a baby coming. but tori has said that she doesn't want kids and considering that ollie is still a kid...

Ollie: "can i have someone come with me."

Cop 2: "yeah, you'll need someone anyway considering you are still a minor."

Ollie: "i want my siblings"

Cop 1: "alright if we can get the car and drive down to the station, we are gonna get you some help"
