Chapter 33: ITS TIME!!!

Charlie's POV:

ITS TIME FINALLY TIME!!! I am so excited but it was advised to get a LOT of sleep before a c-section and i'll be honest i really did sleep for a while. (nick made sure i was comfortable enough so i could sleep)

Sarah stayed with us last night so she could drive us to the hospital and back. Clover said she would come with us, and wait in the waiting room with tori and ollie.

We are scheduled to be there at about 9:15 and it's currently 7:01. I get up first and shower knowing it might be a while before i wash my hair again.

(After his shower)

I'm not supposed to eat or drink anything 8 hours before the procedure so i ate and drank a lot of water before midnight last night. I walk back to the bedroom to see nick and sarah sitting in our bed, nick in tears, head in his hands and sarah hugging him. i was already changed (i brought sweatpants and a t shirt into the bathroom) and i kinda just stopped in the doorway.

I mouth to sarah:

Charlie: "what's happening"

Sarah: "he's very excited"

I walk over to the bed and put my hand on his back

Charlie: "baby what's going on"

Nick: "i'm just so excited and so nervous. i don't want to be like my dad i just can't-i cant be like him"

Sarah: "and you won't be. nicky you are nothing like your father. you are so kindhearted, generous, and so so thoughtful. you are going to be amazing, i know it."

Nick: "yeah, yeah!"

He looks up at me with a smile

Nick: "let's have this baby and rock this shit!"

Sarah smacks him upside the head

Sarah: "watch your mouth or i will beat your ass"

Nick: "sorry mum"

(in the hospital room)

Nurse: "ok charlie we are going to put some compression socks on you and start a catheter"

Charlie: "alright!"

I'm way more excited than i thought i'd be, and nick can't stop smiling. he's sitting next to me and has been holding my hand since we left the house. speaking of, before we left nick, bless his soul, didn't put the seat in so sarah, being the angel she is, is currently putting it in now.

(lol sorry for all the time skips but it's time for the actual procedure)

Doctor: "alright charlie, do you want to know what we're doing or would you rather we just do it"

Charlie: "just do it and let me know when my baby is safe"

Nurse: "of course and nick, sarah are you alright? do you need anything before we start?"

They say in sink: "nope!"

I can start to feel pressure, i know they are cutting my stomach open.

(i know yall are gonna be mad but time skip again)

Nick is only looking at me while he is still holding my hand. it feels like it's been forever since they started but watching nicks watch it's only been about 45 minutes and after a few more moments, i hear crying.

I look at nick and we are both crying. they lay my baby on my chest and all i can do is rub her head and back. nick rubs her arm and puts his finger under her small tiny tiny hands. Sarah, who is also crying, does the same thing on the inside. She continues to cry and i'm so happy that i seem to just tune it out.

She has a lot of hair, blonde curly hair, with tan skin just like me.

before i know it i've been stitched back up with sarah going to wait with everyone else. They took colette to wash her and a nurse comes in to ask for her name

Nurse: "do you have a name for your beautiful baby?"

Charlie: "Yes, Colette Sarah Nelson"

Nurse: "That is a beautiful name! she should be back and clean in a little bit, they also need to just run some tests to make sure she's okay. when i come back i will also have to run some tests on you charlie to make sure everything is okay with you. until then, sleep well and take sips of water."

Nick: "thank you so much."

Nurse: "of course!"
