Twenty Nine

"You know" I'm with Dom and the others as we stare out into the city from this ledge "I remember you taking me here Dom to teach me how to drift for the first time, even though I wasn't even...twelve was it?"

"Love this touching" Roman motions to us "drive down memory lane but can we get back to the problem at hand?" Yeah, those mercenaries have the God's Eye and they want Ramsey dead. Mr. Nobody was shot and he asked Dom to stop them or something, I wasn't there. All I know was that Mr. Nobody was shot and Deckard got away  "I'm all for winging it, but this is crazy man. We got mercenaries with some real heat on us"

"We took down mercenaries before"  looking at Roman "in London and all we had were our cars"

"We also had weapons" he reminds me "I don't even have a gun"

"Gun?" Dom asks before motioning to the city "we've got an entire city"

"We may have more than that" Tej is going into this thinking rabbit hole "if they use the God's Eye, it'll tap the cameras around town to find our location which means we could plant a virus"

"And then break in" Ramsey realizes what he's saying "to the hacking device" she smiles to him "hacking my hacking device"

"Yeah" Tej nods his head "but the problem is the signal strength, we need to get them within a two mile range"

"That's close" Letty looks to Dom worried, is she getting her memory back?

"Two miles?!" Roman exclaims "if they are within two miles of us we'll be dead already"

"Not necessarily" holding my hand up thinking about something "I could make homemade explosives to throw at the mercenaries"

"Even if we do that" Roman shakes his head "they will be extra pissed and" checking his watch "I didn't plan on dying today"

"Then we don't" Brian shakes his head "we play keep away with Ramsey"

"What?" She demands

"They can't hit us if we keep moving" Brian looks at her as Dom walks away "and I'll take Shaw"

"How many" Roman asks me "of these explosives could you make?"

Shrugging my shoulders "If I start now...at best many twenty"

"Then let get going" Tej motions "I need to get ready for the hack"

"Is it just going to be one cell tower?" I ask, they stare at me "your going to need more than one, if they figure out what you'll be doing you'll need to have a backup cell tower or multiple"

"She's right" Brian agrees with me "it'll be the first thing they'll do, get rid of the cell tower"

"Um" looking over my eyes widen seeing that guy from Dubai with a golden retriever puppy "hi, we met in Dubai"

"Yeah" nodding my head, Roman and Tej whisper about us as I went over to him "Um..."

"I never got your name" shaking his head

"Neither did I" letting out a laugh "pepper spray you"

"I'm Demetri" he introduced himself then his dog "this is my dog Chloe"

"She's beautiful" I motion "could I pet her?"

Nodding his head "sure" kneeling down, I pet him and he crouched down next to me. Chloe licks my hand as I look over to Demetri smiling "I'm Emily"

We are silent staring at one another, I don't know why but the next thing I did was pepper spray him again and I cover my mouth horrified "I'm so sorry!" Exclaiming as he waves his hand.

"It's okay" he assured me covering his eyes

"I got to pee" running away grabbing Tej's hand pulling him aside.

"Did you really" he points to him "pepper spray him?"

"We won't talk about it" shaking my head as he drives away not looking back.

|Demetri's POV|

"Why" Jane asks me when I enter the hotel room with Chloe, I'm here in LA with the elite guard tracking down a vampire who created an immortal child or claims of an immortal child "do you have a dog?"

"This is Chloe" introducing Chloe to the twins and Felix who stare at me and Chloe who is in my arms, she licks my face and I talk like a baby to her "oh, aren't you adorable? Yes you are, yes you are"

"Demetri?" Felix came over "are you sure everything is alright? Your not dying right?"

"Yes" nodding my head "my soul mate likes dogs and"

"Hold up" Felix stops me "soulmate? You found her?"

"In Dubai" I was there with Marcus and Chelsea since Marcus was buying this one painting when a car flew from the window and into the building and my soulmate jumped out of the car along with two other guys. Marcus confirmed the bond after she pepper sprayed me "her name is Emily and she's the most beautiful woman I've ever met"

"And the dog?" Alec asks

"I don't know" shrugging my shoulders "went by a pet store that was having a sale on puppies, she was the only one left and bought her" kissing the top of her head "Emily loves her"

"So, what does she look like?" Jane asks

"She" noticing the tv "is on tv" turning the tv up, the news lady talks about a car chase and a helicopter shooting at them along with who is driving the cars. Setting Chloe down, I go to leave but Felix stops me "Let me go, my mate is being shot at!"

"We can see everything on the tv" Jane reminds me "so unless she is shot shot don't do anything"

Felix's grip tightens as we see my mate throwing explosives all around, she then changed seats with someone and goes through the sun roof "Oh my god" staring at my mate who is looking at a drone, she then runs before jumping onto the drone and tries to tear it apart. When she does, she falls onto the ground hard "let me go Felix"

"I recognize her from somewhere" Felix shakes his head "I don't know where but I do remember her" we hear an explosion having Chloe bark, the tv goes fuzzy as a cell tower falls down and there's an explosion.

"Let me go!" Yelling as Chloe barks like crazy before we hear this loud scream that has us look over.

"Was that a banshee?" Felix asks

We hear a knock on the door and a familiar scent of espresso, blackberries, and vanilla bean. Alex goes to get it "Hi" I hear my mate and am relieved "can I come in?"

She comes in anyway and goes to the window and pulls out a bazooka "Woah" Felix lets me go seeing as I'm calm, my eyes completely trained on my mate.

She shoots it and it hits some helicopter "Ha! In your face!" She turns around and stops seeing me "Demetri"

Her heart begins to race "Emily" I go to her "we saw on tv you landing on the ground"

"Uh" she stares at me and I stare at her "Uh"

"I recognize you" Emily looks over at Felix "you destroyed half of Rio with a few other people"

Throwing her hair over her shoulder "My team and I are awesome" she checks her phone and answers it "Yeah Tej"

"Em" some man, no! Who is that? Her boyfriend? When she left with that one man earlier I felt so enraged "are you still in the Carlisle?"

"Yeah" she confirms

"I need you to go to the roof" he orders "and once there I need you to find the God's Eye"

"Um" she looks at me hanging up the phone, she pepper sprays me again "Oh my god!" She screeches "I'm so sorry!" I think this is her version of having a crush on me or liking me.
