Second place
is just last in a race
that I never
wanted to run
in the first place.I didn't want to
compete against you.
I didn't want to make
anyone choose between us.
I didn't want one of us
to matter more than the other,

without me wasting my breath -
but they insisted on
seeing that damned
sport until to the end.I know where my place is,
I know what I mean,
with this piece of silver
next to your gold.
I'm just...me.
