My fingers
ache.
My back is
sore.
It's hard to
move.
My legs are
stiff.
And,
suddenly,
I feel
myself
so many
years
older.Tears are
welling.
"Why was it
me?"
I am not
19,
but
80,
and appearances
aren't always
what they
seem.In the light, I'm
smiling
and my
face is full of
youth.
But,
in the dark,
the wrinkles fall,
and my hair
fades.
Oh, what beauty
lost!
I take a deep breath,
and
rewind
the clock,
force myself
to move,
and enter the
light
again,
youthful
until
the night.
