I wish
I could leave you.
Spread the word
that you are gone
with a
triumphant shout.

I wish
I could gather
my things
and
put this
endless,
abusive cycle
to rest.

I wish I could
leave you to
a memory,
turned to a
story of victory.

But I can't.

You stick to me.
You hide where
and
when no one can see.
You peek, yes,
then they notice.
But you never reveal yourself
enough to introduce.
They always
blame
me.
You find it funny-
but your game
slowly ruins me.

You cause misery,
tears enough to drown in.
I can't eat.
I sleep until I forget
what time means.
You leave me
losing who I really am.

Depression,
you wear me thin,
and I lie for you.
I claim it's all fine.

I stitch a smile,
my newest project.
But the truth bleeds
out
in ink
as my sanity dies.

And you go harm
and haunt
another poor
soul
unsuspecting
but hurting...
