An Unexpected Stormy Day

I don't know why
things went wrong
in a day
beginning right.
I woke up well;
I woke up early.
But my bright day
has ended too quickly,
to turn to a lonely night
before the moon
ever was in sight.

Smiling seems
like a chore,
and my legs
feel
like glue.
I can't get them
to move
easily.

They say they
try
and I'm glad.
But
my mind turns away
sits obstinately in
this gray,
murky fog.

My sunshine hid behind
the clouds.
Something caused it fear.
Now the light has dimmed;
it doesn't dance for me.

"Are you okay?"
"Is everything alright?"
I feel guilty when I don't lie.
It's easier to,
for their sake
and for mine.
Who wants a rainy day
when they asked
and prayed for
clear skies?
