"You're not coming."
"But-"
"No buts, Problem Child. You are not coming to school today."
It's 6:27 in the morning, Izuku is being stubborn, Aizawa isn't here for it, and Shinso is watching the show from the other end of the kitchen island, a bowl of food before him.
"Well, what am I gonna do all day?"
Shota sighed. "You're allowed to use the training room or go to the store. Just make sure you're not out for more than an hour."
"And the other 69 hours between today and Wednesday?!" The irritation in his voice was everpresent.
Shota thought for a moment. "If you don't want to be alone, I could call in sick or have Eri stay."
Izuku sighed softly. "You don't have to take time off for me. Besides, I should spend more time with Eri either way."
A light breath escaped Shota, he a small smile grazed his lips as he let his hand gently ruffle the tuft of green hair. He handed the kid a bowl of homemade ramen before walking over to clean the pot he'd used.
Now that their petty argument was over, Hitoshi asked the question that had been on the tip of his tongue. "When the hell did you have time to make all of this?"
Shota simply shrugged. "It's a talent."
Hitoshi looked to Izuku who was already staring back. Izuku just smiled though, turning back to his teacher. "The food tastes great, Sensei. Thank you for making it for us."
"It's Shota." He muttered but nodded. He left to his room so he could get changed- it was fucking cold so he wasn't gonna take a shower. That was something for later. When he finished, he walked out to find Hitoshi ready as Izuku explained to Eri that he'd be staying home with her.
It was domestic, intimate in a way that brought tears to Shota's eyes. He looked up, he would rather not have to redo his makeup- even if it was just the foundation.
" 'Zawa?" Eri called out. "Why are you looking up?"
He didn't bring his head down to face her or the two other pairs of eyes on him. If he did look at her then he'd see a child that had long since died. "To thank heaven for the blessings they've given me."
She hugged his leg and he brought himself to pick her up, allowing her to hug him in a somewhat better position.
"Are you okay with staying here with Deku?"
She pulled away slightly, careful not to fall out of his arms as she did so, then nodded furiously. "Yes!" She exclaimed.
"Alright then. I'll be home late so don't stay up waiting." He declared as he lowered her to the ground.
"Is 'Toshi-nii gonna come home too?" She asked with her eyes brightly lit.
Shota looked to Hitpshi who gave a quick nod. "Sure. Now go eat your breakfast." He chuckled as she almost ran into the kitchen, yelling after her. "And make sure not to spend more than 8 hours on your tablet."
"Eight?" Izuku echoed once she'd left for the table. He took the schedule he was handed from Aizawa, skimming over it. "That's more than most parents aim for."
"She enjoys arts & crafts as well as learning to write-" He pointed to the very few controlled time stamps. "-so she's preoccupied." He shrugged. "It's not like she has school to worry about anyway."
Izuku nodded. Looking over the chart once more. The only things that seemed to be strict were times to eat, shower, write, and take her medication.
