The moment Mingyu got out of his car, all he could see was bunch of stretchers being laid on the ground, some having the bodies of their guards on them, some alive and some dead due to the heavy firing. With every foot kept inside, following his brother like always, he saw his godown crashed as if he was some kind of garbage dump. The storage room was caught on fire, an attempt to burn all their products which were about to be laid down in market. But fortunately, the fire wasn't big enough to engulf the whole area but unfortunately it was big enough to destroy every single thing stored.
The intruders had destroyed everything, even the mirrors that hung on the wall as designs. Mingyu could see his older brother groaning, today honestly wasn't the best day of their life.
"Father is here." Vernon announced and both Hyungs of his immediately looked at side just to watch their father coming towards them, his face dejected as if he was purloined.
"You should not have been here dad. We can take care of these." Mingyu heard his Hyung say to which they all nodded in response. His father really shouldn't have been here. Watching this in person was the last thing Mingyu wanted his father to do.
But the older didn't care, waving off as he began to speak, "I wanted to see the damage from my eyes but..."
Mingyu knew what his father meant. The loss was too much, a little painful to eyes but atleast Mingyu thought it was bearable. In corner of his eyes, he could see his brother kicking off some remains of broken vases. The basterds didn't even left the vase too.
"Whoever did this...have to pay back." His brother gritted his teeth, annoyance visibly creeping on his face while Mingyu watched his father's business manager, Chan, making his way from the stretchers and broken glasses carefully before standing in front of them. Looking at him, it was sure that he felt panicked and scared when Seungcheol turned towards him, demanding an answer, "How did this all when happened?"
The manager, who was Strangely youngest in all of them, gulped down his saliva, making Mingyu wonder how the hell someone this young was surviving in field like this.
Chan was smart, it was obvious since his father trusted him more than his three sons. After the death of his father, who was once in the same post as he was now, Chan was practically raised by them. He was sent abroad to study when he was in highschool, his father's intention totally being to keep him away from their work but once he came back, he requested to be around them and work for them, as a way to repay the goodwill.
He wasn't needed to do that, no one forced him to do that but the younger was persistent. He said foreign country was something he still couldn't understand and he wanted to be in Korea, so he was allowed to stay, soon given the post of manager due to his hard work and intelligence.
Not only external, the younger also was responsible for their internal affairs too. He knew everything, from the small ant creeping out on their floor to the amount of men walking per storey building, he had knowledge about everything. He was loyal, no doubt but Seungcheol's intimidating stares demanded an answer for a question he had no idea about.
Still he gathered few words, trying to sound as less afraid as possible, "They attacked when most of our guards were out on for helping the transaction in the other godown. The security was loosen as the most important thing we thought was the other godown in Busan, but we never expected to be attacked here. There wasn't even going to be a transaction here!"
The younger was frustrated, probably wondering the same thing all these while. It was true, the transaction happening in Busan was ten time more important than the mere products burnt in Seoul. Why would somebody even burn this down? It was like fighting for a loaf of bread when a whole ass feast was happening in neighbourhood.
