It's 4 pm. I'm entering the library where I'm meeting Tom now for our Dada assignment. He already sits at a table, I smile at him and sit down beside him. "Hey Tom,"
"Hello, Lucia." Tom replies back to me in his usual soft and low tone that he uses with me. He sits in a chair at the table, his books open and organized in front of him. He's been there for a while, as I can tell by the coffee on the table and his already-opened books. When I sit down beside him, he returns the smile and looks at me.
"Let's get started on this assignment, shall we? This theme of transformation seems like it could be a challenging one."
"I think so, too. Any idea where to start?"
Tom looks at me and thinks for a moment before replying softly. "Well, we should try to look for references to transformation in the books... like maybe how one might be able to tell when a werewolf is transforming, for example. Or... maybe how different people in different stories describe the transformation as looking or feeling."
"I was just using transformation as an example, but there could be many different topics that we could choose from. We just need to start reading some of these books and looking for anything that could lead us in the right direction."
I smile at Tom while he flips through the books. His hands are big and slender somehow. He gently flips through the pages of the books. Somehow fascinating. I have to try to concentrate on the books and our topic. Tom continues to flip through the books and look for information that could relate to transformation, as I sit there admiring how he gently flips through the pages with his big and slender hands. It's intriguing how he seems to be careful with them, yet his movements are very smooth and controlled.
"There... might be something over here about how someone can identify the signs of a werewolf transformation." Tom says quietly as he reads one of the books in front of him. "We could maybe start looking for that."
"Hm..yes. good idea. " Tom starts to laugh like he knows that I wasn't really listening. "Why are you laughing?" I ask him slightly embarrassed.
Tom chuckles softly at me and smiles as I ask him why he was laughing.
"I'm just a bit amused at how easily distracted you seem to be by my hands." Tom says softly while keeping his eyes on the book in front of him, a small smile still playing on his face.
He's obviously not offended by this, and he doesn't seem to mind my occasional distractions. In fact, Tom is starting to find my attention to the way he moves his hands somewhat amusing and charming, even if he's not sure why I keep watching him like that.
"I..I'm not distracted by you.. I just" My face starts to blush."Just continue, " I laugh.Tom smiles and doesn't seem to have any difficulty in reading between the lines when it comes to my brief reply. My face shows a clear sign of embarrassment now, and Tom looks surprised for a moment, as if he didn't expect me to admit this to him.
Tom looks down at his book and quickly continues reading, but his head is constantly turning to look at me and observe my reactions. He notices how I blush and become speechless, and he can't help but smile at me again for a moment. After a while, we find a few informations, and our assignment goes on really well. We spent 2 hours at the library when I suddenly said, "Should we continue tomorrow? My head is killing me now. "
Tom looks over at me and sees the worry on my face as I mention how my head is starting to hurt a little bit. He nods to me slightly and closes the book in front of him.
"Yeah, that's probably a good idea. We seem to have gotten a good start here, so we can just pick it up from here tomorrow."
Tom tells me softly, now sounding a bit concerned. "Are you feeling okay? Do you want to head back to the dorms now?"
"I don't know. We could also talk for a bit more? I mean, not about the assignment"
Tom thinks for a moment before replying to me, "Sure, that could be fun, I mean, I don't have anything else planned for the day. We could hang out for a bit more and just talk about other stuff. We probably don't have to spend the entire afternoon discussing this essay, right? It could be more fun talking about something else."He seems to warm up to this idea very easily, and he seems ready to spend some more time with me now, even if his tone still remains soft and low.
"Wanna go for a walk outside?" I smile.
Tom looks up at me and considers my suggestion for a moment before finally nodding back at me and smiling.
"Sure, that sounds like a good idea." He says.
Tom closes the book and stands up, grabbing his bag and then offering his hand out to me.
I stare nervously at his hand and decide to take it. On one hand, it feels good to hold his hand. On the other hand, it's making me nervous. I know he tries just to be a gentleman, but I have never seen him act this way with other students, especially girls. We walk outside
I can feel the cold weather outside now, as a chill breeze hits us both as soon as we walk out. We start walking side-by-side, our hands now connected as we continue to walk on the campus.
