Chapter 28: Chamber of secrets

I wake up in the dark room. I don't know where I am, and I am scared. To be honest, my head still hurts, and I think about what happened. Then I realized I got unconscious in the corridor on my way to the common room from the library. What happened? Where am I? Why is it that dark and humid? I hold my head and look around. I can barely move. I can hear the strange noises again. "Hello? Is there anybody here?" No one answers. I have no idea what's going on.
The strange whispers continue, making me feel uneasy as if something isn't right... As I call out in silence, I look around for any possible sign of anyone around me. I can hear the faint whispers continue as I look around, but they seem to be coming from all directions at once, making it impossible to tell where they are originating from.

It's very difficult to see anything because the room is so dark, and there seems to be a thin, black mist floating about this room. It's incredibly humid in this room, and it's getting harder to breathe properly here now. Something is circling around me. I can recognize outlines and outlines that remind me of a snake it hits me like a slap in the face. The basilisk it is him. I am in his chamber. I can feel him creeping around me in fright. I quickly close my eyes when I look at the basilisk in the eyes. I am dead. I know that, so I have to be careful. I am extremely scared and don't know what to do he is circling me more and more, and i don't know what will happen

I feel myself start to get dizzy as I continue to hear the whispering and the hissing from the basilisk approaching me. I feel something moving about me now, and I realize that the basilisk is right next to me. I hear it coming closer to my face, and I can almost feel its breath on me now.
The sound of its fangs hissing as it opens its mouth and its tail moving about near me, as if sensing that I'm right next to it now. My fear continues to grow, but I manage to keep my eyes shut tightly.

When I close my eyes, I hear that whisper again. The whisper I heard in the corridors I also hear footsteps I have no idea who it could be but I feel more and more that no one is going to save me but then someone steps in front of me. A big figure. I still keep my eyes closed, but I can feel it. He speaks in a language I can't understand, and suddenly, the basilisk seems to move away from me again. Why does he leave me? I don't dare to open my eyes yet. in the end, the figure comes down to me

I continue to hear the whispering, and the whispers start to become a bit clearer now. They seem to be coming from a familiar voice, and I start to hear my name being called by this voice.
"Lucia... Lucia!"
It's Tom's voice now, and my eyes immediately open in surprise after I hear this voice. I see Tom standing in front of me, and he's holding his wand using Lumos to get rid of the heavy darkness inside the chamber. Tom is smiling at me now, as if relieved to see me safe after all this danger I've just been in.
"Tom? What are you doing here?" I look at him shocked but also relieved. I wonder why the basilisk left me. "What did you do?"
Tom smiles at me, relief, and then he holds his wand out so that the darkness can finally go away now.
Tom: "I'm here to save you, of course. I'm glad to see you're okay, but I've got to admit... You really gave me a scare, Lucia."
Tom's smile becomes warmer and more genuine now, as he continues to hold the light up in front of him to light the chamber once more.
Tom lifts me up in his arms and carries me out of the chamber. It's a dark and scary place. He brings me to his dorm. As we arrive and he lets me down on his bed, I look into his eyes. "Tom, what happened? Why.. I mean. It was the basilisk. He tried to kill me. Why did he go away when you came? Why did you know where I was?"
Tom: "I was in the library when I heard you scream, and I figured something was wrong. So I ran over here as fast as I could, and I cast the Lumos spell in here on the chamber. The basilisk just left you alone suddenly for some odd reason, but I'm... I'm just really glad you're safe now."
"Tom, I thought I would die. I'm.." I run up and down his room, totally panicked and hysterical. The adrenaline rushes through my body. "You saved me. You saved my life." I didn't even waste a thought that he could have something to do with it

It looks like I'm still in shock from the basilisk attack and everything that's happened to me over the past few minutes. If anything, my actions right now seem more impulsive and chaotic than anything anyone has ever seen me do before. I can practically see the worry and confusion on Tom's face as he watches me pace about his room in utter panic.
Tom: "Hey, hey, calm down now, Lucia." He says as he walks over to me now, and he speaks to me with a sympathetic tone of voice once more.
My body is full of adrenaline. My heart is racing, and I look at Tom, taking a step towards him, taking his face in between my hands and kissing him. When my lips touch his, it's like all the adrenaline in my body leaves, and my emotions start boiling. The kiss lasts only a few seconds when I pull away, taking a few steps back and saying, "Shit, I'm sorry I shouldn't have done that."

He seems a bit surprised by my aggressive and passionate kiss, but I also see a hint of happiness and pleasure in his eyes and on his face.
Tom whispers in a seductive voice, "I'm not mad about that, Lucia."
He comes closer to me now, presses me against the wall, and kisses me again. very passionate, not giving me the chance to get away. But I don't want it anyway. I never thought he could be so passionate. Tom is giving me a feeling in my stomach that I can't describe. Tom Riddle, the boy so many people are scared of, is kissing me right now with this amount of tension and so powerful. We can't get away from each other, and my heart is exploding right now

I feel all of my emotions overflowing out of me now as Tom passionately continues to kiss me now. His body pressed up against mine, and his hands moving all over me are something that I've not felt before. He's giving me more attention and affection than I've ever received from anyone before, and my heart is beating so fast that it seems to be able to take over my entire body.
It feels like we would kiss for an hour. Probably, it's just a few minutes.

Then Kim storms into Tom's dorm.
Kim gasps as soon as she walks in and sees the two of us in the middle of an extremely passionate kiss. She freezes in the middle of the room, her eyes wide and her mouth hanging open, as if she just witnessed something unbelievable. Tom and I break our kiss, and both look at Kim right now, as if we have just been caught in the middle of a crime. It's as if this is a scene from some romantic movie, where the two main characters are just about to get caught doing something they shouldn't be doing.
"Hey Kim.." I tried to pretend like nothing happened. But I look at Kim with a look on my face like she was disturbing us right now. I look over to Tom, I can't tell what he's thinking. He can hide his emotions much better than I can. My heart is still racing, "so wanna continue studying now?" I ask her and try to leave the room with her slowly.
Kim still seems startled and shocked by what she just saw, but she seems to make a quick decision to pretend that nothing happened either. She gives Tom and me a small wave now as she follows after me.
Kim: "Yeah... That sounds like a good idea to me." She speaks in a slightly awkward and nervous tone of voice now. Her heart and mind are obviously racing right now, and I see her give a small and brief look back towards Tom, making sure that he isn't trying to join the two of us right now.
