ALDERAM ROMANO

I've been busy.

My father has started several casinos across the country and has asked me to visit them.

Papa is a business man. Not a mafia man.

I believe there are two types of business men.

One that stays in his office late to make the salary for his family. And the other goes home for dinner because he works harder during the day.

Mine is the latter. He would never miss a single family event or a single breakfast or dinner. He would even pick me and Felicity up from school. Yet he still managed to be the CEO of a company that make a million a minute.

Now he's retired and wanted to he rest of his life to the max.

I'm disappointed I couldn't take Selena with me but the casinos are a dangerous place if the security is still being set down. I know she can protect herself but with her health. . .

It's too confusing.

As I reach the casino in Moscow, it's is the fifth on my list and I only have two more to visit. I can't wait to go back to Italy and just be around Selena. Her presence changes me and I just don't know how.

Unfortunately, when I return those scumbag American pigs will be visiting and I swear if those pussies get on my nerves I'll beat their asses.

If you get on my fúcking bad side you are on every mafias bad side in Europe, Asia, Africa, Australia, and South America. I own this planet and if scums even try anything they will be gone for good.

Even if the Russians are my enemies we are allied against a common enemy.

SELENA MONTGOMERY

Felicity is coming to visit me tomorrow. Rossi gave me a heads up last night before I slipped into Adam's bed.

I tried to get into my room across the hall, but the door is conveniently locked.

Electronic key.

Right now it's around 2am and I'm staring at the ceiling. It is a slick gray stone cut into tiles by line of tune lights. It is a thought out design but it making me very tired. I haven't slept in nine days. It's hard stay awake nowadays. When I go on a run, I fall and am close to passing out from exhaustion.

Maybe I should get a little rest for meeting Felicity, she has a high energy and will tire me out in only a few minutes.

Just for several minutes I close my eyes.

FELICITY ROMANO

Amelia, my attendant, rings the door bell and Nathaniel, my body guard, talks to Rossi over his phone.

I hear Rossi's voice on the other side of the phone until the car comes to a stop. I step out of the car with Amelia's help. Nathaniel is right beside me and I hear the front doors open. I immediately know Rossi is standing right there because of the smell of his cologne.

Sea breeze with notes of citrus.

The scent makes me smile and my heart warm.

He instantly wraps his arms around me, giving me a bear hug. The next second he is asking how am doing.

and asking how I am doing.

"I'm doing as good as I can," I answer solemnly, glad I can't see the pity on his face, "Where is Selena?"

"She's upstairs in Adam's room." He answers and I know the playful tone in his voice which makes me think as well. "She hasn't been sleeping too much without him gone so please go easy on her."

Rossi's voice holds worry and concern in it, showing me he has grown attached to their guest.

Adam didn't tell me much of how he met Selena or why she is staying with him, but what I do know is she is a special girl.

I was first surprised to meet her. Adam doesn't have companions or bring his one-nights to family events such as our mama's.

I take the elevator up to Adam's room and Amelia accompanies me to the door. She opens the door and I walk inside to hear crying and yelling.

"Get off of me! Please, stop!! Why are you doing this?" The whimpering continued until it stopped in total. I heard shuffling and Rossi's talking. He was trying to walk the girl up. Selena was panting and stopped breathing, probably when she saw me standing there.

"Amelia, wait outside please. Oh and close the door, will you?"

Amelia is hesitant to answer but she knows not to doubt me "Of course, Felicity," she finally responds and I hear the door close gently. I make my way over to the bed, clicking my tongue to find its position.

Once I sit down, everything is quiet for a few minutes. But I know there is never truly silence, maybe in space.

"Only a small number of people can use echolocation and they've been born blind." Selena says as she is probably analyzing me. "How do you know I haven't been born blind?" I ask her interested in her knowledge.

"Your scars, although healed are still only a year old."

"Wow, you are brilliant. Where did Adam find a girl like you?" Thoughts are skipping around my brain of how a girl this miraculous can be made. Her voice like velvet but word like knives.

"More like I found him," she mumbles softly. "Do tell," I ask her hopefully and do my famous pout which is guaranteed an answer.

"How about a deal, I'll tell you my story if you tell me yours."

I know what this is, an empty gesture. A tooth for a tooth. She knows I'm probably hesitant to tell the story of how I lost my limbs so she won't have to tell the story of her past that led to her dream earlier.

How about we change up the playing field.

I smile innocently at her, knowing she won't go back on her word.

"Deal!"
