ADELRAM ROMANO
I rush into the hallway with Felicity behind me. My guards are crowded around something down the hall.
One of the maids throat had been slit and was now dead and bleeding over my dark blue rug. Selena is bent over her crying. I kneel down beside her resting my hand on her back.
It was the same maid that she thought was too young to be stuck here.
A knife was in her hand, the one I give to all my men after initiation. My promise that blood is blood whether it is the same or not. My gaze turns towards Selena's room and I see the guard with his throat slit.
I pull Selena up into my arms and feel her trembling. Rossi hugs Felicity and Jared comes running down the hallway.
"We need to secure her in a room where she can't hurt anyone or herself," he says in a panic tone. "The footage from the hidden cams shows her lapsing between two personas."
I have been keeping the Americans in holding cells in the basement since we brought her back. I have been too focused on Selena to question them yet, or her for that matter.
I take her to our medical wing where Jared insists on strapping her down with the restraints so she doesn't over power anymore staff.
I sit with her while he plugs her up to a machine and sticks a needle in her wrist.
Jared also says some medication to sedate her will help to calm her down but I refuse for her. She is tired enough and I know she is scared of the demons that haunt her in sleep.
I clench my fists thinking of those American pigs. How could they hurt a precious angel like her.
I study her while her eyes are closed. Gently reaching foward with my fingers, I brush a pice of hair back. The thick, unkempt black hair that frames her face is a mess. Silly of me to think I can fix it by brushing back her hair.
My fingertips trace her cheekbone and then the light but still visible scars that are sketched on her face.
Selena's eyes slowly open and I start to pull my hand away but she stops me with one word.
"Stay."
Her voice cracks from the dryness in her throat. "Don't leave me here alone."
Her eyes begging me to stay by her side. Those saphire blue eyes are drawing me in.
" You need your rest, Selena," I say stroking her hair behind her ear and then reluctantly pulling my hand away. " You are not feeling well."
A tears escapes her ocean blue eyes like a waterfall being released.
"I'm scared, Adelram. Please don't let him hurt me."
Her lips trembling. The whites of her eyes show hints of red. Her nose and cheeks pink.
"I won't let him get to you. I promise"
Her crys do not stop as I leave the room. I can hear the bed being moved and shifted as she struggles to be set free.
I am doing what is best for her.
That is what I tell myself.
I walk the treacherous steps of my home and as I do I make a call.
"Helloooo, Rossi speaking.."
"Meet me in the basement."
"Yay! Fun! Let me grab my new knives and I'll be down there in a sec."
He hangs up.
It's time for some answers
