SELENA MONTGOMERY

We get through the rest of the movie and the sun starts filtering through the dark curtains. I feel my eyes fluttering closed and Adam slowly leaves the bed, letting the credits play.

I let my sleep consume me as I hear the shower running.

Getting shoved into the boy's locker room isn't the best feeling in the world, but I know whatever is going to happen next will.

"Ah, Selena you thought you could run away." Brody tuts at me as his minions push me against the lockers holding me in place. "Did you?" He watches me waiting for me to say something, plucking the cigarette from behind his ear to place it between his smirking lips.

I had attempted escape this afternoon. Right before lunch break begin when everyone was crowding the halls, but I had failed. For the third time this week. I just ran as fast as could to get off the school grounds. In minutes, Brody was surrounding me with more people from their gang. Clay had just started to abuse me a couple weeks ago after he helped me move out from my parents house.

He waits about two seconds for an answer but he doesn't get one. "Answer me!" He spits in my face making the guys holding me laugh.

"N-no" I whimper and a grin spreads across Brody's lips. "Aw, good girl," he caresses my hair and when I try to pull away from his touch, he backhands my face.

He grabs my face roughly and makes me face him. "Are you going to behave now?" "Y-you don't o-own me–"

Brody's face leans closer to me the cigarette in his mouth brushing my lips making me flinch and slam my head into the lockers. "Oh sweetie, I don't own you but Clay does and he is about to be here. If you don't behave I will tell him and trust me Selena, Clay will be pissed."

My heart stops and I feel my body turn to ice. Brody takes notice and grins. Right on cue, Clay walks in, rolling up his sleeves to reveal the fresh ink he got just last week. A disapproving frown on his face when he sees me. "I've got this." Waving his fingers at the two guys holding me there. As soon at they let go of me, I fall down to the floor.

"Katrina, you've been bad." Running his hand through his hair still frowning at me. "Did you think you could run away and I would just let you?"

I begin shake my head and before I know it his hand is on my neck pulling me up against the lockers. "You want to try that again, Katrina" "N-no, I won't do it again." My fingernails dig into his forearm as I struggle to breathe.

His fingers loosen a little bit but not enough for me to feel relaxed. "I wish I believed you. If you just behaved, you wouldn't need to be punished like this," he says letting go of me. My hands are now grasping neck trying to get the air back in my lungs as I struggle to speak. "L-like what?" "If you just stopped trying to run away, I would treat you just like how I used to."

Clay's serious expression keeps me silent.

I don't understand what I did wrong to get him to start hurting me like but whenever I tried to make it stop, it only got worse. I had no other options. I needed to leave.

I open my mouth to speak but his hand covers my mouth to shush me. "Don't worry Katrina, I won't hurt you too much but you need remember I own you and you'll never escape." His thumb moves to start to caressing my lips and I resist the urge to pull away, knowing it will only make it worse. "How can I make you remember that?" Clay says to himself with a dangerous look in his eyes.
