"Annalise, please you have the floor." Mr. Dixon announces once he finally calls on me.

I don't necessarily have a problem with Mr.Dixon, he's seemingly young, in his mid thirties and at times he knows what he lectures. But if you ask me, he doesn't know a thing about the basic meanings behind these classics he makes us read and watch.

"I don't think it's fair to have to write an essay about how literature shows the morals of pride and prejudice based on the movie. It's almost obvious in my opinion to have us read the book instead." I state and he raises his brows in curiosity.

"And whys it 'obvious' as you think?" He asks. The class remains quiet watching our interaction. Surely they're used to hearing us go back and forth.

I liked to be challenged with my studies and quite frankly I don't think that I am being challenged to the best of my ability. So much for AP Lang.

"Well obviously a 2 hour movie still doesn't give you all the details and the true dialogue the book does. This movie was purposely made to just give the main points and the plot of the story. It's quite a bore seeing it all go by so fast paced if you ask me." I lean back on my chair.

"Plus are you not asking of the morals from the pride and prejudice of Jane Austen? She wrote the book. This movie had writers working on it and has been tweaked as to not completely bore the audience so, yes I think we should read the book. The main source." I finish off my thought.

"Do you guys agree with Ms.Martin? Do you feel it isn't fair if I make you all write an essay about the movie? Should I make you read the book instead?" He asks the whole class, hands in his pockets as he walks through the isles.

"Uh Anna, I know why you're doing this and all but a book? I don't know if I'm in the mood for-" Quinn looks like she's about to whine.

"Then maybe you shouldn't have picked an Ap class." I tell her and she quickly closes her mouth.

The only reason she chose this class was so we could be in the same classes, I never asked her to do that. But at the time I also didn't mind. I take my academics seriously and she knows it.

"Well to be honest I didn't like how fast paced the movie was either. I almost didn't get it until the ending. I wouldn't even know where to start on the essay." This boy in my class speaks out. I didn't know his name but I was internally grateful.

My sly grin is plastered on my face as Mr.Dixon makes his way back to the front of the class. I see him look around the class before looking back at me and nodding.
