JARREN
"Ely!" I called her name the moment I got into her room. I'm catching my breath as I doze off inside and there I saw my unconscious patient.
I run towards her and immediately check her pulse. Adrenaline enveloped my whole being when I saw the blood on the blanket. I diverted my gaze into her face and there's a blood on her nose. "Shit..." I cursed before doing what is necessary.
She was sleeping at her hospital bed while I was at her right side watching her sleep. Damn, she's asleep again. The symptoms are showing up and it's getting severe. I'm still running some test on her and as much as I want to rush all my experiments, I can't. Because it takes time to heal someone. Especially it's a very dangerous disease at alam kong traydor rin ang cancer.
I put my hands on my face, covering it in frustration. What should I do to you, Ely? All my findings are all getting a dead end. The solutions and the formulas in my hands are slowly losing its hope.
"Hey, wake up little sleepy head. You've been sleeping a lot just by today. It's scaring the hell out of me, do you know that? Therefore, you should be awake, hm?" I softly whisper.
"I'm not giving up, Ely. Even though all the formulas in my hands leads to an end, still, I won't give up. So please, don't give up on this. Don't give up on yourself. You should stay alive in order to pursue all your dreams." I mumbled as I caress her hand. "I'm not giving up on you, little brat."
Hindi ako umalis sa tabi niya. I was afraid to leave her dahil baka atakihin na naman siya at wala ako. It scares the hell out of me and I don't know why I am feeling this way.
My phone rangs and I immediately answered it. "Uy Jarren! Asan kana? Iniwan mo rito yung mga pasyente mo." Bungad ni Mara sakin sa kabilang linya.
"I have something urgent to do, Mara. Ikaw na muna ang bahala diyan."
"Ano? Eh, ang daming nakapila rito sa labas ng office mo. I can't handle them all. May mga pasyente rin ako."
"Sorry, what I am doing right now was more important than that patients whose waiting for me."
"Jarren! Did you hear yourself? A doctor won't reject anyone whose considered to be a patient!"
"This is more important than anything, Mara!"
"Anak ka nang... ano? Iiwan mo lahat ng pasyente mo dahil lang diyan sa importante² mong ginagawa?"
"I'm sorry. Tell them that I won't be entertaining some patients today."
"You can't just deny all of them, Dr. Jarren." Madiin nitong sagot sa seryosong tono.
"My decision was final."
I sighed before putting the phone on the side table. I should only fucos on her.
Tumayo ako bago magtungo sa mini kitchen. I started to roam my eyes finding her stored foods and ingredients. I removed my lab gown and put it on the dresser. I resumed looking around trying to figure out what to cook. "I should cook soup."
"D-doctor! What are you doing?"
My head immediately turn to the person who spoke. I saw Kelsey's manager standing beside the door. I gave her a small smile before answering. "I'm cooking for my patient."
Awkward itong ngumiti at tumango. "Is anything bad happened? Sorry, ngayon lang ako. I just bought something outside." Paliwanag nito na ikinatango ko rin.
